Been wrenching on my 00 V8 for almost 2 years now. Work out one issue...wife drives it for a few days..another one pops up. Now it has started the intermittent overheating thing. I have thrown time and $$$ at this beast long enough. It is a love/hate relationship that no counselor would take on...
For as much as I hate to do it…it is time to let the girl go. My wife needs a more dependable car to get around in and long trips are in her future. It is a 2000 V-8 with 134+k and she is in good shape. I have been wrenching on her on and off for 2 years. I get one issue ironed out and another...
I am putting on an aftermarket air intake system real soon and was wondering if anyone needed the stock system for their car? I have a 2000 V8 and would be willing to send it to the person for just what it costs to ship it. I have cut the bottom of the airbox some for better airflow. Send me a...
I had posted here before about not being able to reset the oil change to 100% on the msg center. Was reading up in the shop manual and it said one of the areas to look at would be the ABS mod!? Ok either I have no idea what an ABS is (Antilock Braking System) or the accronym is WAY different on...
I am on my second leg of fixing my 2000 LS V8. I am making a list and could use some info on parts and if I am looking in right direction for the fix.
1. Clockspring replacement- whoever posted the repair procedure is my hero! I need to by the clockspring. Checked rockauto.com could not find...
WTF! Now this is really drivning me crazy. I opened the door fine first thing this am. Took the car to the store...came out and key would not unlock the damn door. Had to climb through the trunk! With the horn blaring! I can't for the life of me figure this out. The only thing I have done...
Sorry if I am digging up "old" info....I was looking at the newfordparts.com website. They list a bumper cover for a 2002 LSE with SQUARE fog lights. Is this correct?
Anyone try/order one of these? Seems like a good price.

My brother is a District Manager for Firestone (Yes I get great deals on tires). I was talking with him about options on wheels/tires and his opinion is that cars are designed with the right size wheel/tire combo for the suspention geometry and changing that will change the quality of the ride...
I ,for one, just want to pass on my thank you to ALL of the folks here who put up with all the questions and problems posted. I come here at least 2 or 3 times a day to find info on my LS and am always learing something new. I appreciate it VERY MUCH! It has save me so much time and $$$.
I finally have most of the mech issues with the car worked out. Had to take a 60 mile trip to VA and decided to stretch her out. Was worried to drive her more than 10 miles without all the bugs worked out. Hopped on 17 and headed north on the bypass and she jumped to 70 without a blink! Smooth...
I am in the process of deciding on a set of wheels and tires. It is a good thing to have a brother who is a district manager for Firestone! I am going to drop the car down and wanted to know what the best size wheel/tire is to go with. I know this an opinion thing...just wanted to run it by all...
I am replacing the fuel tank in my 2000 ls. I took out the pumps and am having a hard time finding the gasket that goes under the retaining ring on both sides. Looking for a part number, web site, idea......thanks for your help ahead of time!
Talked with a guy I found listing on Craigslist, for 3 weeks now, about going to his place and pull apart 2 2000 LS's. It is a 4 hr drive one way. Made plans for Saturday. Got up early (5 AM) and was getting ready to go so I text'd him to let him know I was on my way. No answer. Waited for an...
Did an oil change on the "beast" (00 LS V8) and am having problems resetting the it on vehicle check. I was able to reset the air filter with no problems. I get to the oil change warning, hit reset and it goes right to the air filter check...no reset! Any suggestions? Thank you ahead of time.
That putting an alt on the BOTTOM of an engine is a good idea? Holy s**t....not much room to get that thing out. And I don't think that splash shield is going to keep the water out of it.
