I did something stupid last night; need opinions

I fvcked up my barcelonas! I'm such a dumbass.

Some fvcking stupid ass jeep (not srt8) was riding my ass last night, and dumbass that i am i speed up and leave him in the dust however we were on these curvy winding roads with not much space between the curb and the center yellow lines. Well, took a turn too fast and too close to the curb and scraped it. I literally went home and cried, out of anger and sadness and all these other mixed emotions. Fvck my life!

Anyway, called some local shops and got quoted $200 to redo the 2 in gloss black, but i was planning on doing them ALL in gunmetal later this spring or in the summer. So idk. Should i just go ahead and re-do them all in gunmetal now? or just re-do the 2 in gloss black? or just leave it alone for now, because they dont look too bad? lol

the damage: Some deep gashes. Some not so deep.

Way to ruin my wheels. :/. Lol. I'd go ahead and do the 2 in gunmetal and just keep them on the one side of the car. Then one side is black one is gunmetal and you can compare see which is better looking.

Or just you know do them all gunmetal now! I would like them better gunmetal then black.

If you're going gunmetal do it all now. In the mean time why don't you just plasti-dip those two (or all 4 for that matter)?
 
you dont speed up when someone on your ass you break check em. my moto is the closer you get the slower i go
 
I bet you can buff that out with a black sharpie!

Depends on if you want to save $$ or not, and how long you want to wait to do the gunmetal. If it was me I would go gunmetal now on all four.

I'd say plasti dip em for now. Why spend double when you can do them all at once? No one is going to inspect them anyways. Or just leave them as is.

Mine also. I especially like the tail-gaters in the carpool lane. If 72 (in a 65) ain't enough go around! Want to ride my bumper? Then 65 is a more appropriate speed! Then again, the LIMIT is 65, maybe 60 feels better!
 
I am with a few others, plastidip or sharpie the damage - then redo all four when the time is a go.

I know exactly what you're feeling, all of my wheels are still perfect except one. I cut a corner too sharp one week after putting them on because someone was taking up too much space in the entry/exit of a parking lot. I was impatient and drug the right rear wheel directly into the curb. About 8 inches of rash on the lip.
 
whoever had my wheels before me nailed all 4 on curbs. It's all light, probably from street parking, but they all have it.

One day I'll get them redone. It's pretty low on the list though.
 
Should have touched the brakes two times and if they still on your ass, then you slam on the brakes. That usually wakes them up if they didn't already trade paint.

I would just get those two redone the same color, so it matches the other two. I don't know about you, but having those two different from the other two would bug me out even if it was for a short time.

Never let em "push" you. I dont agree at all with brake checking (that sht gets you shot at sometimes). But i woulda just let off the gas and dropped like 20mph lol. (but thats on rare occasion)
 
Refinish asap. Wheel is too nice to leave as is for any period of time. Personally, I like the ghost black look they currently have.

I have a problem with this. If your in the carpool lane and NOT passing anyone. Be considerate of others and move into the center lane. One of my petpeeves of other drivers are poeple that drive in the hammer lane/POV lane and are not passing anyone. Think of others that might be in a hurry for whatever reason. Let them get the ticket. Your not paying for it. When you see them pulled over on the side of the road. Laugh your arse off. They got what they deserved.


BTW Just do all four now. Now you have don't have a reason to wait.

what rollin said. if its a single lane or they are too close in the far right lane, then sure, they are being unsafe. slowing down may prevent a higher speed incident.

but in a multi lane, i just move over and let them pass. if they are in the fast lane going faster, just move over. maybe they need to be somewhere. i don't care.

DAMN.. sorry to see, but it coulda been alot worse... Hell, you coulda rolled it... You can always plasti dip the gun metal to make sure you like it... then decide from there
 
Not sure where you are anymore, but try Wheel Collision Center in Bath, PA. I had them refinish a wheel of mine and it came out pretty good.

I was close to them so it was an easy choice for me as it was cheaper than a new rim and I didn't have to deal with shipping.
 
That sucks man. Just Plasti Dip em for now. Its easy and cheap. Then if you wanna take it further in a few months and get them redone do so then

no sense is painting a wheel that is going to get redone in a month or two.

i would just body fill and sand down the bad wheels yourself and hit them with a couple of rattle cans of high gloss black for a few bucks, then pay to have them all redone in gunmetal when your ready, or just bite the bullet and have them all done right now.
 
Considering my wheels went out for refinishing and a lip polishing today, I will refrain from any driving class one liners Mlara.

I think we all feel your pain since it can happen to any of us and do so in a split second.
 
just sharpie it in until you can do all 4

It's not the Mario Andretti lane. The speed limit is the same there as the rest of the freeway. With limited ingress/egress they can go around. Might sound selfish, but I have every right to be there as the 60ish MPH buses. As the CHP says ( a LOT lately), speeding (ANYTHING over the limit) is speeding.

Our carpool lanes are single lane affairs. And yes, I pretty much stay out of the left lane when I have the cruise on 72. I will speed up to go around in the left lane should I need to.
