Happy New Year everyone, I've been away from LVC for a few days now because I've been busy but I had to set some time aside to post this!!! While on the road yesterday I come across a 1996 Diamond Anniversary w/a Forsale sign on it. It's the real deal. Not a base 96. It's a true Diamond Anniversary. It has 84,000 original miles. Supposedly it has only one owner. The man decided it's time to sell the car so he painted it right before doing so....

You ready?........

This is the interior... Which is very clean for a 96. It has a weird stereo, not OEM & the info center has been swapped for a black one.

Then you take a nice close look at the exterior (which used to be silver)

Why o why would you do that?

It looks like 1970's & 80's Cadillac brown or what you would find on a Chevy Cimmaron or on a 1980's F-100 p/u truck.

hard to tell, but it looks like it has lsc side moldings, but base bumpers.

and it doesn't look that bad. i've seen worse. he liked the car, so he took car of it. replaced interior pieces instead of leaving them broken, and gave the car fresh paint. a weird color, but meh.

so he did it to a rare car, oh well. not the first time, not the, last time.

also, why the shark fin?

it doesnt look like it is a diamond anniversary it looks like it just had diamond anniversary front seats. did it actually say diamond anniversary in the rear quarter windows in gold writing? and honestly, the only thing that makes a diamond ann any different is just the cordovan stripe on the seats thats it. there is nothing any better from a d.a than any other mark, a red piece of leather, oooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! so collectable!!!! it even came in 2 colors that any other mark could have come. the only thing is cordovan wasnt offered on any other marks until 1997, besides the D.A so what, i had a 96 D.A and it was so collectable that i turned it into 5000 parts.

Yes, it has LSC side moldings & base trim bumpers. Sad thing is the rear base trim was painted over but not sanded correctly so even though the paint is really good, they fvcked it up big time on the rear trim.

I know it's not a big deal but I wouldn't mind owning that car if it was in original condition.

It does state Diamond Anniversary on both quarter windows. I honestly smell accident on the car. The corner lights & headlamps are BRAND NEW! Don't know how he came across them but they are truly brand new. No scratcches on them what so ever.

I was at the junkyard today and saw a black interior with a tan message center...wierd

I had to get a new message center switch panel for my old '96 because several of the buttons broke. All I could find was a black one. I had a grey interior. So I just took the black buttons out of the one I bought and put them in mine. It worked fine and gave the message center a little contrast that was missing in the Mark's "sea of grey" interior.
