2004 GTO "0" - 1993 MK8 "1" Kicked butt!!!

I'm still grinning ear to ear. A great night at the track from temp to no bugs to fast times. Got there early and all teched in nice and neat. Got in staging lanes right behind this sweet ride.

First pass down track right into 13's 13.98 @ 93 then next run 13.97@93 but was like WTF tach dropping down 200 feet before finish line. DUH I left OD on!!! Next 2 runs spun hard so crap ET but mph up to 100 then 101 thats good sign. Track was getting greasy so I kicked back and waited for the GTO.

He shows up makes couple runs,running real close to me. Should be a good showdown at the OK corral. I give him the nod and we go to cars. OD off check, Traction control off check. He has been pulling faster 60fts then me so I just wanted to stay next to him first 60 and see if I could leg him out. So that meant NO spinning for me.

Burn out ,stage ,light drops. I 60 foot him 2.032 to his 2.081. He runs his fastest time of the night but its NO match for the super powered MK8. I walk away from him and don't even see him out my side window. I run a 13.63@101.70 to his 13.97@101.54. Its a sealed deal ,king of neighborhood MK8's RULE!! Hope below video works.

Dropped 6 tenths and picked up 6 mph from old combo. I'm still giddy like a little school girl. LOL

LOL Nope. His best run ever is 13.8?.So this was a good clean run by him. He has been going to the track like every street night this year. He was cool about it. He's getting CAI and a tuner now. There was his twin car there running 12.5's. Last pass he got pushed off something died in the blower that was on GTO.

I've bracket raced my '93 enough to see that quite often. Clippin' along runs at a consistent number, dial in the eliminations as noted from previous runs and then - boom! Breakout time. LOL

Quick run down of go fast mods.
1) 4.10's and posi -- used payed $15 to take them , used free
2)9.5 inch PI 3200 converter-- used 220 then Circle D upgrade 380 total $600
3) Diablo chip-- used $195
4) C&L MAF with 9 inch K&N filter --used $68 new $32
5) March Ram Air setup-- used $50
6) BBK 1 5/8 long tube headers-- used $147 total
7) full 2.5 mandrel exhaust with 2 in 2 out internal X muff-new $237 used $60
8) Nitto 555R drag radials-- used $195
Total comes out to $1569 and most of that was converter.

There are more mods but they don't make car faster.
