Total comes out to $1569 and most of that was converter.

There are more mods but they don't make car faster.

I'm suprised those Nittos were not spinning. They may have hooked up on the last run. Once my mods started exceeding the capacity of the Nitto DR's, they were extremely inconsistent.

They where spinning. It was blowing them away in 2nd too. I was being cheap trying to make tires last and not baking them hard and paying for it. On last run I said screw it and dropped them to 17psi and roasted them hard. It hooked and booked on that run. It has a 13.4 run in her once I get 60ft to where it should be of 1.890. And it will get there.

The GTO is a 5.7L six speed manual LS1 powered making 350HP stock.
Then it wasnt an 05. I kinda thought so in the video but couldnt quite make out the tail pipes (my Interwebz service dont like photobucket videos). The LS1 version is 345hp. The LS2 is a 6.0 and makes 400 but I kinda think they were under rated.

wasn't the first version of those with a single dual tip pipe out the rear and the second version was a dual single on each side? And wasn't there something with IRS and solid axle too?

The changes were exhaust outlets, ram air hood and LS2 motor. Dont think there were any other changes.

Props on your times, good job repping the Mark VIII out there! You should pick up a set of pulleys that will get you another 1/10th in the 1/4 mile.

I got year off by 1 its a 2004 everything else i mentioned is true 5.7L 6 speed and stuff. What I really knew about car was its the 5.7 and not the 6.0, the 6.0 was like 6G's more then what he paid. Can I change the Thread title to 2004?

Thanks everyone for the props. I hope this being a 2004 its not a good win. I noticed I said 2005 in BBK header post but mentioned 5.7L. What was nice he was cool and let me rip thru the gears in it.

FYI underdrives and AFPR are being ordered right now. That brings up a ? I'm sure I have a "94" engine in my 93 because the FPR is oval mount not triangle like "93" and down correct?

Wish I could get my super skinny front runners off my stang on her too. Speaking of rims thanks for comments. Man I come out from store and just stare at her and think "frekin cool" You guys park way ouy from stores so you can walk up on your car to "check" it out? Do you drive by stores with mirror windows so you can check out your car and hope you don't smash into someone while your checkin out your own car? I remember in 1993 being 25 and looking at this same car and saying "oh some day you will be mine"( as i was rubbing my greasy mits together and drooling) Some guys that come here will come and go ,swap car like the wind. To me this car is the cats meow and will be keeping her for as long as I can.

Awesome! I thought you had nitrious or something. Most people here don't have their car tuned right or they have it tuned right and run with 300lbs of stereo crap or run giant heavy wheels with front window tint. Really, really great time, and this is coming from a person who had driven and raced mark's for 14+years! I really am thinking the real mod for this car is and always has been that converter?????????

Doug - can we get a higher stall speed torque conventer for your car??? :) lol

Geno - comments on this thread??? Is the real secret the stall speed converter???

Ken

And dont think I was trying to take anything away from you. I tried to run one on the highway last week and was humiliated. I forgot I wasnt in teh white car. :(

So many things are correct with this car.
A good set of sticky tires and its a tough combo to beat.
Some nitrous.....instant street stomper......on a low budget.

When I did my mods chip was 1 tenth the 4.10's and posi where good for 3 tenths the converter knocked 2 more tenths and the full exhaust dropped most with 6 tenths. Thats 1.2 seconds. I went from 14.8 to 13.6.

And here I was going to start throwing some smack to my neighbor.May have to wait for that.

Don't forget the sticker in the rear window.

About what I would expect with those mods.
