Painted the Interior Trim Today

thanks, what about the trim on the sides of the steering wheel and above the glove box? same thing basically?

The trim above the glovebox is easy. Open the glovebox and pull the trim out from one of the corners. The trim by the steering wheel is almost as easy. You will have to pop off the piece below the trim, since the trim has a small lip on it. After that pull the trim from a corner and disconnect the wires for the headlight, dimmer, and mirror switch. You will have to pop out the black ring on the ignition trim piece from the back.

It was dark so I only have 2 good pics of the trim installed. Yes there is a smudge above the buttons on the center vents. I need a new one anyways since the button brackets finally broke.

I like it. as i do agree with a Previous post.(wood grain in a gen1 looks sum what cheez). just not sure if i want to change it out .

i miss my fake wood wheel, it doesn't get much classier than wood on the wheel

has any of my 2nd gen brethren ever tried to sand down the fish scale on the alum trim? maybe to give it that brushed look

Nice job on the paint. I prefer the wood trim myself, but if this makes your baby that much more special and classy for you, that's all that matters.

You definitely took the time to make it look good. Kudos on all your work!

I love the wood on mine too. But most of the pieces he painted are also silver on gen2's

Thanks for the "props" guys.

I'm thinking about taking the cheap way out and putting on a steering wheel cover, to cover the wood, because I'm flat broke from buy all the new parts lately.

That's what I was going for. It was cheaper than buying a new LS.:D
