NEW TPS on my 93 is acting up again!

So now when I take off quick/pedal to the metal, my 93 is redlining at 5,100 RPM's! After 5,100 RPM's the car doesn't accelerate. When Im doing about 50 - 55 & throw it into neutral it revs up to 3,400RPM's then slowly comes back down as I slow down. As long as the car sits stopped the car won't rev up! My fuel economy is in the dumps. Car is averaging 9.6mpg. I have a NEW IAC installed & I know that's not it! I will be taking the intake apart tonight again to see if I can swap the TPS again for another new one. I'm crossing my fingers. NoLimit told me the last time that even though its new, it may be defective. I hope he is right!:( I have a 450 mile round trip to do this weekend!

Nope, the T I replaced & created from a plastic T from Advanced Auto! I'm going to take the T from my 97 & install it on the 93 to see if that's the issue because the plastic T I installed on the 93 is indeed a bit thinner! :shifty:
 
The problem is that you take care of it. Look at the '97. Doesn't appear to be taken care of but starts everytime, runs and shifts great, good fuel mileage. Go figure. Take your wife's Jeep. You look so cute in it! LOL!!

Yeah, go figure right? Actually the 97 has been giving me battery issues. I start the car every 3-4 days. I always have to jump it with my booster. I think that battery is dead!

Yeah, lol... I just remembered I have that blue 93 in my back yard so I will be taking it off that one instead! Same "T", just better off using that one!
 
Might also want to consider swapping out PCM's with the one you have out back, if you still have the same problem but it still sounds like the TPS. Hell, change out throttle body's too. Take the TB off the 93 out back and put it on the black one and see what you have. It's free! The TPS will already be on the back of the TB from the blue one. Just some ideas.

I would do that if I didn't have this trip to Palm Harbor up to Jamie's this weekend! I might just do what Rich has advised me to do & take the trip in my wife's new Jeep! I was really looking forward to driving my car but I don't think I can trust it!:(
 
If you do you might have a story for Frogman's new thread...my car has been acting up as of late as well...taking next week off work...replacing intake manifold gaskets, cleaning imrc's, replacing egr, replacing water pump with meizere, addressing oil leak (either front main seal or oil filter gasket) thinking oil filter gasket as already replaced front main seal this past fall, checking fuel pressure then either replacing pressure regulator and/or dropping tank for a new fuel pump, giving vehicle fresh fluids...hoping that clears up my idle issues and car running on the hot side...once that is done I am going to drive the vehicle save some money then address switching back to factory air ride....I need the bezzell (think that is what is called) for the drivers door handle...anyone have one in white they want to sell?

at least my daily driver isn't parked dismantled waiting to be fixed....I am about to get into my daily driver and go to work....my toy is waiting to be fixed....keep on putting money into your toy/dd and you will keep working for the man. oh by the way you should consider combing your new wheels thread and your trans help thread together then placing them under frogman's jackass thread...
