what do you guys think a fair going price for a gen 2 with under 100k should be. the ones on egay a stupid expensive and the few on my local CL('s) are simalarly priced. if you dont mind what did you guys pay for yours?

$14,500 for my first 98 (back in 2002) with 52k
$13,800 for my current 98 (back in 2004) with 58k
$900 for my 97 (back in 2007) with 125k

:D

I paid $600 for my 98 Black on Black, but it needed a new motor, I paid $1500 for my son's 97 LSC with 108k miles, and I paid $2500 for my 98 LSC. Each car need some sort of repair, or the usual gremlins we deal with on here like blend door, front end suspension, etc.. still needs to be done. The Marks on Ebay that seem to go for outrageous prices are usually one owner cars from some elderly person that couldn't get their license renewed and their children traded the car in or something like that. IMO it's ridiculous to buy a Mark from a car dealer. They over-inflate the value of them, thinking they are worth what they have them priced at. If you're in the market, you gotta come south. They are much cheaper down here on ocassion.

3 grand should get you a really nice one.

paid 3k for mine in 07 w/120k. Previous owner didnt drive it much in 6 years(20k)ase of the blend door.....I fixed the bd ($50), 200 worth of susp work(bj, srb and 1 strut) and 5 bucks worth of plastic epoxy fixed whatever broken interiour tabs there were. O' and i had to paint the door handle($5)..Pretty basic stuff minus the bd..Luckily at the time i bought it it wasn't a daily driver..I was able to fix everything before i sold my other car earlier this year.

A mark in good shape can be had for around 3.5-4k. Might have to wait alittle bit though.

I sold my CE with 98k mi a few months ago for $5000.

thanks for setting what should be a fair price for these cars...let's face it we all have a vested interest in having these cars appreciate in value.

2 1/2 years ago i paid 6000 grand for my black 98 lsc with 80k on it, i paid $3,600 for my current black 97 lsc with 150k and a bunch of mods, and i paid $1,350 for my current black 98 lsc with 209k on it.

thanks alot guys. those three posted above are killer deals excepy they are all at least 1500 miles away. 2-2.5ish is where i want to stay, and i enjoy working on cars and im not intimidated by small issues(BD, vacuum, ect.) ill just have to keep looking locally for that one deal.

the only reason you would be going slower is for everyone to really get a glimpse of your much nicer, much classier mark VIII.

they dont stare because they admire the gen one, they stare and say, what year is that old ass lincoln, is that a mark 7 they say? old ass lincoln lololololol

Why? ... I like them at low prices ... why the hell do you think we buy them .....

We buy them because we have a passion for them ... Many of us have had many. When we are done with the current one we take what we need from it sell what we don't and then get another....

i have as much passion for the Mark VIII as anyone on here..I have had mine for 10+ years... when you spend hard earned money and time fixing, modifying, and upgrading you would expect it to hold some of it's value...my statement is in regards to Mark's that are in good condition not junk if you can't appreciate that then for each their own.
