Apparently the car is a bit of a pile. The windshield is broke and three tires are bald which I didnt know. Also it has a check engine and an ABS light which kinda irks me cause I specifically asked about those. The check engine comes and goes so I bet its an intake vac leak. No big deal cause we would install the one I painted. ABS light comes on when the car moves so its a wheel sensor just not sure which one.

So with both front and rear windshields needing a swap and the taxes on the car we may just swap its motor and ABS electronics and pump onto the old car.... as well as the hood and seats..... and steering wheel..... and entire dash board...... kill me.

Just have to see which way makes more sense and see what we have to work with when I inspect the car this weekend.

Not like it all has to be done quick, once he is up and running in a dependable daily, he can worry bout the little sh1t being nice.

If you keep Sapps old car you at least do not have to worry about re-registering it or paying taxes on the sale.

Yes, while the back window can wait the front can not due to safety inspection. So that is a cost that needs to be factored in.

This is true.

The downsides to keeping the old car are really minor I guess. It has many many more door dings so when the time comes for repaint it will be about $900 more expensive. But thats in the distant future.
The ABS dont work and not sure why. He replaced the module with the correct one but no luck. Wheel sensors test fine too. May be that weird switch I found in the back lines that leaks but who knows cause we dont know what that switch is called and nobody here does as well. :( The new car has traction controll so cant swap its module and pump, or so I gather from what I have read on here.
His X-brace is cut out. When I open my shop I will have a welder and we can make a new one I guess so again, not a really big deal.
His dash is kinda messed up and the new one aint. Again its just a cosmetic issue but we will end up swapping it and I dont wanna screw with that really.

We gotta pull apart the seats anyway cause the leathers much better on this car but the motors dont work and they do on the old car.

The steering wheel is also much better in the new car.

Now if we swap the stuff on to the new car then its just as much work cause the windows need to change and the shocks/springs, brakes, exhaust, window motors etc etc.

Just gonna have to wait and see the new car. If the chasis feels better to me then I will coax him into keeping the new car.

I'm sure it will look sweeeeeeeeet! That was the same color combo as my 1st mark (blue on blue):)

Well got to say...a Mark Viii isen't the cheapest car to own and operate...so if he's broke and has a family to get around, bit the bullet for now and buy a cheap 4 door car...sunfire or something easy to work on cheap on insurance and gas. Mark Viii isen't for the light in the pocket and its not a family car...iv owned mine for 5 years love it to death and i will die in it...but if i didn't have more reliable cars and at times deep pockets i wouldnt own one. Just my 2cents...i don't know how much people donated but is it enough to buy a cheap 4 cyl car? no power windows no power seats, plain jane.

That switch on the rear brake line is just the switch for the 93-94 shock actuators. Just pull it off and find the right size plug and plug the tee, or just replace the line without it.

I replaced the lines on my red and green 94's and didn't bother replacing the switch or tee. The ABS is not affected.

some people have so much money into their cars that it is only right that they keep their money pits! I am guilty of the same thing. You make the best of the situation at the time! Some people deal with things differently!

i totally understand it...the money pit they are...but im not saying sell it im saying take your donations, or sell the car gman gave him(don't know if it was given or on loan) and get a cheap reliable car till money starts rolling. The time wasted in labour and the swapping of parts, sapperfires you do have a true friend in Lasersvt.

Gotcha!;)

You guys are absolutly AMAZING!!! I can never thank you ALL enough, even those of you who couldn't donate, Thank You!!!! I never would have immagined that a group of people I met on the Internet would ever help in such a major way -sniffle-

Ok so some about the car...
Motor and trans feel wonderfully perfect, idles very quiet and shifts nice, and then there's the long list of what's better what's not
only 1 tire isn't up to spec, other 3 are good, 1 is like brand new.

Was getting ready to hook the scanner to her and see what the lights are about, but the Nemisys met the floor and busted the LCD, so I'll scan it Monday when the shop gets a new scanner

As far as the rest of it all goes, it's pure cosmedics, not a big deal, but let's face it, you guys wouldn't be on here if everyones car had dents and dings and torn leather etc etc.
I'll be pulling all the pretty stuff from 2 old cars, and building 1 nice one, the rest of the money making parts will be either sold to repay loans, or sent to those that gave loans at thier discretion. It all just a matter of Bill and I choosing which frame will have insurance and other legal bs attached to it

you all should have seen my wifes face as I pulled into the drive, it was classic. It was so nice seeing a huge smile, and knowing that she is far less stressed about how things have been going. You all have made this the best Christmas ever, so Thank You all again...I hope that everyone else has wonderful holiday -wipes tears-

and the moment you've all been waitin for...picture time...-runs over to lift car on rack-

after those pics, i'd say put that motor in your car that thing is rough! part out what you dont use and scrap that. and learn where to put the lift pads also, you got the front ones on the pinch molding what are you a jackass lol you have front frame rails, thats why everyone on here bitches about their pinch moldings being all bent to piss!!! anyway, good luck whatever you do, hopefully you are back on the road quickly, being without a car is not very easy.

Yeah thats the plan. Steal the motor, trans, seats and LCAs from the GMAN car and part the rest.

Be sure you guys read all the service receipts. The previous owner had a lot of work done, including a new radiator, and some other stuff I can't remember now.

Every usable part of the car will be removed, and either used, sold, or stored for spare.
Jamie I've never bent a pinch weld with that rack, been setting it for years. I always use the subframe on my car or any that I can, this car will one day be a freezer so i'm not too worried about the pinch welds on it

So far, extra parts to be claimed list will start with Mark8Murder, who will be receiving the drive shaft
Jamie will receive headlights-give me time to save up shipping
the susspension I believe is sold

If you need parts, speak up...I'll let you know if it's available..stuff will be sold cheap enough to be very fair and to get the loans paid as fast as possible

once again guys, thank you SO much, not only will this car get mine running, but most of everything else wrong with mine can be addressed
You guys ROCK!!! I love each and everyone of you in the most ungay way possible

Sapp, trash those housings. I'm already sending Jamie a set I have here. They'll be going to him Monday and when he's done, he'll be sending them to you. Shipping will be taken care of and thanks for not loving us in a gay way.

Also, I noticed the front passenger side corner lens was all cracked up. What's the condition of the one on your car? If it's good and not needed, let me know or let me know if one is needed. I got one of those too, not cracked.
