hail destroyed mine, finding on the color I need is looking to be impossible
I think I paid $100 seven years ago at a local shop. I masked everything myself, which saved some labor cost.
Good luck finding a good light. I've got two from ebay that have various problems and are unsuitable to me. I'd pay almost any price for a mint LSC lens in any color.
I've got a rear neon+ballast in pearl white, little dirt inside...otherwise perfect...$180
How the hell do you get dirt inside a sealed lens? Are you talking about the black spots that some of them get on the reflector?
Biggest problem I'm having is finding one with good (unpeeling) badges. Not interested in going badgeless.

$527.34 + shipping for one NIB.
Would you take $503.68? lol
lol, you said "I'd pay almost any price for a mint LSC lens in any color." so I found you one.![]()
If they had your vin#, it might even match the color you need, idk.

Was this the site you were referring to?
Yeah, they all run off the same database. Same as these:

http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?siteid=318
Unfortunately, they haven't been updated for years.
they dont make gen 2 parts because gen 2's were built better and dont need as much replaced as those :q:q:q:qing fossils you girls drive, you win again, you certainly do, open the wallet winner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahahahahhahhhahahhahhahahahahahahaahahhaahahahahahahhaahahahahah
gen 1's
Yeah. my blend door on three different GEN 1's went out all the time. Those damn Gen 2's never go bad because their built better.....![]()
I could go on and on about Gen 2 flaws that make you open a wallet but I won't call out any names *cough* glitch........ but anyway, something makes the neon just stop working for some reason
and lets not mention the HID bulbs that go bad that can only be found on ebay USED. If you want to add your own HID conversion, you have to buy or make adapter rings for the bulbs just to fit. (DLF, where you at?) Gen 1, just buy a kit. It's ready to plug and play lol.
Lets not even talk about putting the two side by side (STOCK) on a 1/4 mile strip and seeing which one gets to the end first lol.
Wait, who is it that is having to "break out a wallet" to get a Gen 2 out on the street? You need another kidney stone just for saying that.Dinosaur my ass.....
BTW, the Gen 1 I bought "from you" has never needed a wallet broken out for it except for the fact that I wanted a new grille, headlight housings and corner lenses. "knocks on wood" and I had to put new tires on it because I hated the little low profiles it had on it but other than that, not one complaint. I might buy a new windshield for it simply because this one is old and pitted but I can have that done right here in my garage for $130.00
We should have a Gen 1 and Gen 2 debate on the pros and cons of the two. The only thing I like about the Gen 2 is the fact that you can open the hood and not see plug wires and the steering wheel moves on it's own, "if that works" and that's about it.
It all boils down to the fact that it depends on if you're a Gen 1 fan or a Gen 2 fan. I like them both but as for looks, speed, reliability, I would choose the Gen 1 but that's just my opinion. If they would have came out in 93 with the Gen 2 body style, I bet it would have only lasted a few years and not 6. Please note the Gen 2 sales #'s.
In all reality, the Mark VIII that sucks the most to me is the 96. I apologize to you 96 owners but I wouldn't own that year if you paid me because in the end, it wouldn't benefit me. I'd end up spending it all finding parts for it, if I could. If you have one that has no problems and has had no problems, I congratulate you.
My blend door went out on my 96 and it will become more common on Gen I's as the grease eats up the plastic gears inside the unit. Good luck finding a new actuator for a Gen I, they don't make them anymore unlike the new ones they still make for the Gen II![]()
My neon works, original ballast.
Gen I guys just have to have their crappy housings redone by someone or you can't see at night even with an HID conversion. After 2 gen I's I got tired of it.![]()
A simple tune fixes that problem.
He would have had to do the same for a high mile Gen I.![]()
That is because he fixed all of the other crap when he had it. It was in quite bad shape if I remember right when he got it.
The ride is better, the interior is better and we have more features. I can also see at night (stock) and do a gear change and have my speedo work with no changes.
The entire segment was dead and dying when the Gen II was released due to the SUV craze. Since the Gen I was produced twice as long the comparison is not really fair. Also the fact that the T-Bird died at the same time does not support your theory. The Gen II is still a rare sight on the road, the Gen I not so much. I still get looks from people trying to figure out what in the hell it is
I had no problems except the blend door actuator on my 96. It was running smooth as silk when the idiot with the T-Bird decided to end its life. It does come down to personal preference, but after driving my Gen II I would never go back.
Somehow..... Ummmm, I think I shouldn't post anything on this thread!
Thats one of the first things i did.
