What size wrench do I need to take those torque converter s.o.b.'s out? A 15mm seems to big, a 14mm seems to small, a 9/16" seems to small. What size are those damn things?

I'm pretty sure that both of my cars were 14mm, and I had to use an offset wrench to get a good hold of it.

they are 14 mm and soft as butter so dont round them off you need to snap then quickly to break them loose they suck ass!

and if there stripped
"Fingers crossed"

Well in that case. There is a round hole on the opposite side of the engine from the starter! It is even with the starter except on the other side! It has a rubber plug in it. But it is about the size of the starter hole. You will have to take one of those sockets that are used to back out rounded off bolts and nuts! That is the only way I know of, I had to do it on mine! I went to ford and bought new ones for my installation. They were $15 for the four of them and they are 14mm! Good luck man!

When I did the Pepperman build I rounded two off... had to bust out the damn cutting torch... what a PITA.

I would'nt want to get the torch that close the oil pan and engine! I'd be scared to burn something that did'nt need burned or catch it on fire! That hole I am talking about is pretty handy! I think that is actually what the hole is for!

I stick a screw driver in a hole in the flywheel and into a groove on the back of the block to keep the tc from spinning, that will help snap it loose,
you'll need to smack the wrench as opposed to using pressure to roll the nut

i have gotten really rounded ones off by beating a 13 mm impact socket onto them, its a bitch but hey, works for me!!

I got them with a 9/16" 6-point socket through that rubber plug on the drivers side with a breaker bar on the tc nuts and a breaker bar on the balancer bolt. It won the battle but I won the war.
