This 96 LSC is my second Mark and i seriosuly think it's over, sure i love how comfy the car is and how sweet they ride.....but these cars are like a hot girl that gets her period EVERY :q:q:q:qING MONTH FOR THE WHOLE MONTH AFTER ONLY ONE :q:q:q:qING MONTH OF SEX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the past 5 months i;ve been going to my 96, starting it, letting the air fill up....go back to the trunk...turn the air switch off, then on again so it can fully pump up the 1 inch from the floor car....air bags going...awesome.

For the past 2 months i've been putting in around 1 quart per month 5w30 and 2 quarts MercV every month because its dripping like a MOTHER:q:q:q:qER!!! This car drips from everywhere, from the rusted to hell oil pan to the seals, to the trans dipstick to even the diff cover!! Even my old 93 Mark which had 60K miles dripped alot also.

THEN there's the front end, for the first 4 months this car didn't make a squeak....now everytime i hit a minor bump it sounds like a gorilla throwing a brick at a metal shopping cart...it's :q:q:q:qing embarrassing lol.

Anyway, yeah i'm done here, it's been fun...

PS i'm gonna just beat the :q:q:q:q outta this car then when it blows i'll take the bus to work...only 4 miles away...hell i'll save money on insurance anyway lol, call a junker to tow it away for $80.

I've got an idea, um FIX THE THING! Broken :q:q:q:q doesn't work the way it is supposed to. Its not going to fix itself, unless you really want to ride the bus then be my guest... AND if its a 96 LSC, don't blow it up, sell it to someone who is actually going to fix it. Make some money before you totally trash it.

Before you turn it totally into junk why not put it up for sale here so that some one can buy it and fix it and recommission it.

Hell, I gotta hijack this.. If everyone is so hot for a 96LSC in good condition why have there been no bites on my car? I have listed several things that need to be done and things I wanted to do.
Now keep in mind, I'm not in any hurry to sell but I would have thought 3500.00 was a reasonable amount for a clean good running car Especially the 96 LSC.

Do you all think its too much? Make an offer.
If I like it I'll sell, I just want to go into a 4door (family minded) or maybe a 98.. I like the interior a bit better, more bells and whistles too.:D
Open to trades..

A lot of people like the 96LSC, its the best first gen, next to a 93 - in some ways... However right now nobody has any money to buy one. I'm sure its not just you or your car, just bad economy right now. If I had the cash, I'd buy it, but I dont.

yea, like I said, Im in no hurry to sell it, I actually love the car, its just im finding with a growing family, the back seat is a small inconvience when lugging children around. its not like my 94 GMC Conversion Van with Hightop. had plenty of room just the 38 Gallon tank was a killer for a DD. its literlly like driving a brick.

Dude, if you want to sell a "clean running 96" you can't also post in the same thread that "it drips everywhere even the diff cover" , and seriously expect to get over 3k for it

someone is going to have to repair the leaking things..If that someone isn't going to be you, then it'll be the next owner or his/her mechanic...

Why don't you do like everyone else on these forums...read what needs to be done to replace certain parts..go put on some "play clothes", get your tools, crawl your ass under the car and fix it

diff cover would be the first place to start, it's the simplest leak, place pan under it, remove cover bolts, remove cover...clean pan gasket surface with a razor blade/ clean diff gasket surface the same...run a bead of gasket maker around the cover and replace, torque to proper spec and refill diff with proper gear oil...on to the next leak

go on, get busy

Dude!
This is not my original thread!, I never said it Drips eveywhere!

Thanks for playing! :)

Ok I got the people corn-fused...and anyway your wheels are on backwards so shhhh

Ahh your looking at my Sig pic huh... ummmm havent had them that way for the last 3 years! :) previous owner had 2 SNOW (Studded) tires on the rear and aftermarket rins on the car, I guess when he traded it in they must have been over looked. I had to buy 2 more stock rims and since then they are correct! Even Mistress said they were! Lol :D

No you cant have my headlights!

Oh BTW.
Fixed Sig!

it sounds like you have a ton of stuff to fix and no interest in fixing it, i was bitching about my 93 leaking real bad and said i wasnt gonna fix it, but guess what i fixed! if you are mad that it leaks oil, trans fluid, the air ride leaks, you have to fix it or it will continue to do so. if you dont want to fix it, put it up for sale, what color combo is it? and as far as your lsc 96, if you only wanted a grand for it in the condition it is in now, i still wouldnt buy it! saddle is a total deal breaker for me, i cant do saddle no matter how sweet the mark VIII is!

I want the headlights from it before you junk it please, mines not a junker, it just needs headlights and a couple other small fixes
so if your gonna beat the :q:q:q:q out of it anyway, I could use a couple pieces :-)

if you want to part it i would like the headlights grille front and rear bumpers and side moulding

Well I can attest to dumping money into these cars isn't always a smart thing. THOUSANDS of dollars later it still runs like crap. New vacuum hoses, new maf, new coils.....still major miss on idle and acceleration. That pretty much leaves the only thing left that hasn't been changed...all intake gaskets.

Had I knew what I know now I NEVER would have fixed this thing. Too late now. For the same amount of money I have in this car I could have a really low mileage New Edge GT!

I wish I would have went ahead with my original plan and done a C head swap. I guess going against your own intuitions is a bad thing....oh well, live and learn.

My opinion sell it and if noone bites freaking part it out!

Aside from my IMRC and headlights the 100k I used my Mark was not all that bad? The rear calipers drove me up a wall as I must have replaced them twice on each side

That and the tail shaft coming loose and causing me to replace so many things I didn't need to

Hmmm my mark with 224k on it runs and drives great.... seems to have a blend door issue thou.... argh

Yeah my AC wet the bed as soon as it got real stinkin hot out. I took my glove box door down and the blend door arm seemed to be functioning as it should? So I went to PepBoys and paid there kinda hi price to have it charged but when it leaks again they will find the leak and recharge it for free :D

These cars have strange quirks and it is part of the ownership experience. If you can't handle it you should not own one.

I love the challenge of finding out what is wrong with them and making them run better. I know an ase certified mechanic and I guarantee I know more about these cars than he does! It's funny because he thinks I don't know what I'm talking about but then when I do it he say's "well I ain't never seen that before" lol:p
