easiest way to separate a gen1 hood?

I have an extra hood, I was just curious how hard it would be to separate the top and bottom and would it be unsafe to drive with just the bottom?

The bottom piece looks to be structurally sound without the top skin, so it would probably be safe. And retarded..

Just pop the front bead. Where the two meet. Then hit the highway at about 100 mph. The upper layer will separate. At this time you can pull over and watch it sail nicely to the ground without getting a scratch.
