Stainless Steel Rear Shock Mounts

Oh, umm, I'm kinda poor right now (no car money in the budget, whatsoever) due to the recent engine swap, so it'll probably be a little while before I can get some more fasteners to make some more up.

IF anyone wants a set now and wouldn't mind pre-paying, that would enable me to get some bolts/washers/nuts and I could have them welded up and sent to you in a couple days....

Hell, on 2nd thought, I wouldn't even bother with paint. I think they turned out good like they are. Mine look identical but were black. I think those are well worth $40 as is. Turned out better than I expected. Good job!

LOL, what were you expecting?!? You have no faith in me? :D

It's not anything to do with your work, I was just expecting the weld to look more like, lets say (less smooth) but I really think they turned out very good. If I needed some, I'd buy them in a second. I don't think you'll have a problem selling them at all.

I see, I see. Well, thanks.

I've got them listed on 3 different forums, so I hope you're right. It sure would be nice to sell all of them.

When I went to Advance Auto today, the guy behind the counter looked at me funny when I told him I have a Mark VIII, but need T-bird shocks. I showed him and the mounts and it turns out his brother has a Mark VIII and needs these pretty badly, so apparently local sales might work out too. The Advance guy has an 01 Bullitt and is the President of a local Mustang/Ford club (Southern Mustang and Fords), and invited me to a car show this coming weekend. I hope to be able to go. Should be fun.

Well, I can say this much. I went to O'Reilly's when I bought the Sensatracs and they asked what I needed them for and I said for a 95 T-Bird and the price was right around $32.00 each and then I asked how much would the same shock be for a 95 Mark VIII and he said $119, so..... you do the math lol. The SS mounts are well worth the money because a lot more than that is being saved by being able to use T-Bird shocks, all because you have the mounts for them. They looked at me funny too when I said they would work on the Mark and I think one guy even mentioned that I'd be bringing them back. Everything went together and fit like a glove and the clunking sound is now silent. The ride is way better now. So in total, including the mounts, I have just a little over $100 invested instead of $240 + tax by buying Mark VIII shocks.

What's wrong with using these???

I personally like the quality look of mine better than those. I've heard that those are much thinner and they're normal steel, rather than stainless. It looks to me like the studs are only threaded, whereas mine are threaded and welded.

I believe (know) that I have a much higher quality product than them. I don't care what you use, that's your choice. I know what I would prefer on MY car.

Ripped, I have no idea what size beads we use. I know they're really small!! :D;)

I made up another set today. These are going to beerdog from LOD.

I had the guy who welded my last set teach me how to tig weld today, so I did these ones myself. I must say, they're not the prettiest welds in the world, but they're more than adequate for this application...

Hell, I can't weld either, but the welds just need to hold the bolts while they're tightened. ;)

I just recieved the box of bolts that I ordered, so I listed these in the 'For Sale' section if anyone wants them. I know a few people expressed interest when DLF first posted about them....
