Im looking to swap my headlights out of my 1994 for the 1996 HID ones. The ones im looking at are the complete kit. do they just swap right over or is there something else i have to do to get them to work in my car?
 
I'd relay the power wires to the ballasts to take any load off the stock wiring which is boarderline to start with.
You may need to make the holes were the hid bulb sit in the plastic header panel bigger for them to fit and adjust properly.
A bracket to mount the ballasts or find a spot to put them.
 
I would sell off the stock bulbs and ballasts and go straight to aftermarket... then sell the stock bulbs and make some $$ back!
 
My '94 had such weak lights that I'd check them just to see if they were even on when I hit the highway at night. My mechanic fixed the problem. There was a definate power drain somewhere in the circuit. So, he hot-wired the lights to the charging system. He rerouted the lights away from the dash switch and simply created a hot-wired configuration that feeds the lights directly from the charging system. The headlamp switch now simply operates a relay switch to open and shut the new hot-wired configuration. My headlights work like new now. It was a neat trick!
 
a neat trick that is causing so much heat right now that any chrome left inside your headlight housings will be a melted blob of :q:q:q:q in a few weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

How hard would it be for you to take a pic of your headlight housings?
 
I'll keep an eye out for any damage to the headlight housings. It's been a couple of years since we rigged the headlights. I've made plenty of nighttime trips, but I should check out what's going on inside. Thanks
