I'm very pleased to say that after months of just seeing how filthy my Lincoln's rug was & numerous attempts at washing it, I finally came across a good black Gen 2 rug & installed it in my car today. I did however have to is fabric paint & mist it over the carpet because the black was fading from the years of use. I also painted the center console as well & I like the transition between the dash & console's colors. I still have to re-do the driver's side door & the quarter panels. Let's see how fast I can get to that but I have to admit, the seats FINALLY stand out & MATCH the rest of my interior! The car looks superb! Check it out!

i was about 2 say that.. using the tan mats on the floor just doesnt look right .

even if you get some from a parts house that dont say Mark VIII on them, black would be better than tan..but im heading back to houston soon, theres an easter egg green / black i know is hidden in the back of a salvage yard ( i have NO idea who hid it there -laugh- ) ill see if there mats are still in it...
or for and even more BAD ASS look, grab some regualr black ones, and take em to the shop that did your seats, and get the CobraStar stitched on them

are you missing your cruise control buttons?

theres some factory sized ( identical) to match the mark. i have some and i think i got them for 70....they have the thicker ones for abit more (mine were abit thin but they were cut to shape)..There under the normal listings on ebay.

Dude I'm definitely looking for floor mats, I don't like 'em either but it's what I have. I'm not going to put in those ugly plain aftermarket mats in my car. The other option I was thinking is to order some Mustang Cobra mats... What do you guys think?

Click on my picture gallery so you can see an up close pic of the Cobrastar embroidery. One thing's for certain, every place does it different.

As for my seat belt? Thanks man that's very cool of you. If you look closely at the bottom of the very first pic you will notice that the seat belt wasn't the only thing gray on that seat! I painted it black today. I want to leave the seat belts beige & I do have the beige seat belt from the original seat but I can't get that damn screw loose on that seat. It WON'T budge! I think I may need to heat it up to loosen it!

Thanks dude, you are truly the man... As for buying the plain black mats & adding the Cobrastar? I asked them when I had the seats done & they will charge me about $85.00 for each mat. I'm unemployed so I MUST wait if that's the route I take.

I saw them like 4 months ago but havent seen them since. I searched E-bay 3 days ago & NOTHING! Sucks!

Looks much, much better!

Those rusty ole' seat tracks really do a number on carpets - ended up de-rusting and painting mine long ago.

svt, i can check my paypal archive to see if i can find the compony...however they dont say lsc on em.

Try PB Blaster on that buckle anchor bolt, that stuff is miracle in a can.
Also, use the tap out method rather than the reverse torque method, 5 lb hammer and 3/8 wratchet+torx should do the trick... Or borrow a 3/8 slam-driver to help break it loose

yes I noticed your seat panel was grey, and I noticed it black in later pics, but saw the buckle was still grey

Was there a gap under the center console? And... looks AWESOME man!

YES! There was a gap but easily fixed! Just like I mentioned in the other thread, I cut some carpet from the leftover underneath the back seat, filled in the gap (& here's the secret, get adhesive spray & shave the carpet, grab the hairs & spray them with the adhesive them tap them on to the edge between both pieces then lightly spray paint over them... YOU CAN'T see the line between the two) It's amazing. I did that with my F-150 last year & its still there holding like the first day I did it!

Looks great. Now you need some black floor mats.

While my head was on the pillow I thought about any ideas & came up with the best one yet! I will post pictures as soon as I do the project! It does involve the CobraStar logo. ;)

have the cobra star embroidered on them? that's what id do but do it in white or red with white outline to match the seats

I have a brand new complete set (all 4) of black floor mats if you're interested... I'll let them go for $50 shipped!

Thanks wood e but as I mentioned before, I'm unemployed so I resorted to doing the same thing to my mats - Fabric paint! The actually look great but to make matters even more interesting I went & got creative! lol

I decided I would edit the CobraStar logo, delete the star simply because it would be too complicated for my idea & began my new project.

  • Edit the CobraStar to look like a normal Cobra
  • Print the Cobra to the size I wanted
  • Cut paper & tapped it to a piece of vinyl sticker I have
  • Cut the vinyl sticker
  • Place on mats, paint over them then let the mats bake a while in the sun
  • Remove sticker & VOILA!!!!!!!!

CREATIVE, LOOKS NICE, CLEAN, FREE OF COST & I'M VERY HAPPY! ENJOY......

I did the cut out idea for my shifter panel, but I used the whole cobrastar design and did it in chrome paint

Hey, try photo shopping solid black mats, I think the carpet change cobra looks kinda odd personally , I would either embroider it ( the cobra with star) or just leave the mats all black

I think it looks good Ultimate, goes with your 2 tone theme. I wonder how it will hold up to wear, and getting wet.

I'm talking to my mom bout getting a commercial size sewing machine so she can do my seats with the embroidery you did, once I get material for the seats I'll try it on a set of mats, if it turns out I'll have to talk to geno bout doing some for the club members who wanted them
