So I bought these Cobra r's and I just can't stand the center cap.

I decided to machine a something out of 2 1/2 inch rd aluminum that I could shine up to match the wheel for a one of a kind center cap.

Brandon came up with the Lincoln star so I went with it.

Recessed then painted black on to match black my 97lsc

Raised painted black

Can't decide....so I will make both :D

I wish I had programing skills like in the vid but I have never used such a nice machine
I think they will look great but I think the first one looks better

I wanted the Lincoln star originally. And something more durable then a vinyl decal would be nice. I like my caps and they were well done but I still wanted the Lincoln Star. :(

What Dia. are your caps?

If I can find enough stock maybe I will make a few sets.
Might look ok with chrome if you painted them black and left the linclon star polished.

My caps are a RCH smaller then 2.5", they are like 2.489735544" :p I am not sure if I would leave them all chrome or maybe just paint the crest black.

What do you run?

Mazaks are nice we also have a couple with robot loaders.
I don't program them or operate them, but have a way of sweet talking to get things done.
I did the cad drawing...... used a center cap off of Brandons ten spokes to get the numbers from, big arcs.
The side is like a 9 inch radius.

LOL I dont know if I can hold that number.
I think mine were 2.45 or something....must be a standard.

They wont be chrome they will be poilshed aluminum, I was saying that it wouldn't look right with the chrome.
But painted and the logo left polished might look ok.

My rims are polished aluminum so I can get away with painting the lincoln star or maybe black anodizing the cap and then polish away the black on the cap keep the lincoln star black.

Then our caps are the same size. Yeah I could spray them black and then clean off and polish the crest assuming its raised.

Ford nut I normally run precision grinders like, mitsuie, okamotos, brown and sharp, moore, parker majestic very little milling though

not sure which one, the one he had with the cobra r hood and LMS trunk spoiler

I can't find the pic, but I know of someone who took a smaller Lincoln-Star centercap and fitted it to the larger non-Lincoln centercap. In other words, they made the original cap a bushing for the smaller Lincoln cap by drilling the center out. It was painstaking work but it looked surprisingly good.
