Just say no to the snake

Looks like I can get some machine time Monday.

Anyone wants a set I need some numbers!!!!

Chicken......Laser!
A good tape that goes down to 1/32 outta work.

i forgot the calipers twice..... and i cant get the caps off without pulling a wheel, iy looks like you might be able to build something that attaches to the cap, hold on ill get pics of a spare cap

ok the cap is 2 and 13/32" and the center is open the outer sticker can come right off, i was thinkin just make it bolt to that the center lip is 1/4" and the sticker itself is 1/32 thick

Backing plate? That wont clear the front hub caps.

Ok so its like a .100 under 2 1/2 dam close to Laser's 60 mm number he came up with.
The thickness I made mine were .300 so that sounds like it would be about the same depth, I would like to make them too thick then to start out until we have some real good numbers, easy to make them shorter if they stick out too far.
You are going to have to take a rim off to get some good numbers for the backing plate, plus let me know how long the set screws need to be.
The backing plate numbers can be pretty wide open

There should be a lot of room in there before you interfere with the caps.
There is on my r's.

why not just make it attach to the cap i could easily send you a cap i got 3 spares

You can use the caps if you want, I guess if you used JB weld or something it would work.
No need to ship them to me just pry off what's glued on there and put on the alum ones, worth a try I guess.

I don't like the caps that press in, I have lost one of mine.
The backing plates seem to be holding

well i got the calipers, just need it to dry off outside cuz i aint sittin in a puddle and pullin a wheel

i was thinkin of having it bolt onto the centercap, i agree they can fly off, i was just kicking ideas around since i have 3 spare centercaps, i should be able to get you some numbers by the weekend

sorry but its been raining forever here. popped off my wheel today and measured the hell outta it only to realize theres no way this would work unless they were tapped onto the plastic snap in cap :( and i dont like that idea

in th pic i posted of the cap above the axle nut and ft hub dust cover kinda go into that cut out hole in the center, and well past the inner lip on the wheel. so no room for anything. so yeah all that waiting to just sit back and say shyt.....

My last machine shop I worked at had 2 Mazatrol machines. I ran the turning center and the Mill was across from me. I didn't like how our Mill was set up but it didn't matter cause my second shift got laid off and now the shop is in receivership! My first machine shop left me plenty of time to fiddle around and I made Stainless Lug Nuts that were beautiful and I left em on a car that i sold like an idiot

I have a Morie Sackie non CNC lathe that has a 20" swing and a Bridgeport manual mill. I wish a had my own CNC mill so I could do some nice detailed stuff like this
