Air Ride suggestions? At my wits end here..

New Compressor, New Computer, New Solenoids, New Bags, New Relay it came up once then I left it over night and it dropped back down in front and instant Check Air Ride again. I don't get it. Spring Conversion is looking mighty nice to me right about now....

HELP!!!!!!:confused:
 
does it air up now if not reset car and get it to lift up then turn air off
and look for leaks check over all of your work
 
Do the new solenoids have new O-Rings fitted?
 
I suspect that you may not have gotten the solenoids installed right, and or sealed correctly. There should be no other reason as the bags must be leaking. You need to use some soapy water and find you leak. Are you sure that the bags were fully inflated before you left your car? After all those items you replaced did you drive the car at all? Did you check the plastic tubing for any burrs or such that would not allow it to seat tightly against the small "O" rings inside the solenoids?
 
instant check air ride might be from sensors being out of range when slammed, jack it up a little then turn the key to see if it still happens

orings, at the solenoids, check them
 
sounds like a leak if it is getting slammed. i was getting random check air ride message after start-up, but everything was good. new compressor, swaps relays, etc. finally said screw it and went coils.
 
Step by step

1. Turn it on and let it air up. Jack it up a little to help it, if it's really slammed.

2. Turn off the air ride switch in the trunk.

3. Jack up the front end.

4. Remove the front wheels.

5. Fill a spray bottle with dish soap and water.

6. Spray around the solenoids and bags to find the leak.

7. Fix leak.

One other area I missed on mine, was where the airlines go into the dryer. One was not seated all the way down in there. Push everyone hard and pull back as well as push in to make sure they are seated. You can get to the dryer by removing just the passenger tire and the inner fender liner.
 
I can't get it to air at all, the compressor won't even kick on. I did replace the computer and the ORings are all seated as well as the lines in the dryer. It came up once and when I went and checked after it slammed I found that I missed one of the o-rings. I checked them all again after putting that one on and now it doesn't even kick on, even after leaving the battery disconnected overnight. I had done a check for leaks on the bags and there weren't any, so I will try some more tonight and see what happens, I'll try with a jack to give it some help since it's completely slammed.

You may have worn out the Relay. try switching with the ABS relay on the drivers side.
 
He says new relay, I hope new is new. Otherwise check fuses. Really need to know if/when the "check air ride" comes on. Right away? After about 45 seconds? That will tell us A LOT right there.

Right away indicates a hardware problem such as a sensor our of range, blown relay or fuse.

45 seconds (or so) later and it will usually be a faulty (but not completely shot) relay or leak in the system. Or the compressor is not running but being told to. The car can not tell if the compressor is working or not, it just send power to the relay and if the relay is responding it assumed the compressor is.

Out of curiosity where are the fuses located for the air suspension? Under hood or dash or both?
 
LOL, I'll quote my original message and highlight the answer you are looking for about the check air ride. I have checked the fuses and have swapped the relay, I have 3 of them spare, all good as I have tested them on the ABS side. When I get home today from work, I will try assisting it by jacking the car up to near ride height and then reconnecting the battery. I haven't had a chance to try that yet since the snow hit us last night.

You should get both sides up. I have a set of mini ramps I built from 2" X 6" s that get the car high enough to get my floor jack under the front sub frame, and I raise from the center. Remember that it can take 3 or so key cycles to get the bags full
 
I have a low profile hydraulic jack that actually gets under it when it's slammed. I figure the scissor jack on one side and the floor jack on the other side lifted to just under ride height should hopefully do the trick.

Both.. there are fuses listed in each of those places for the air suspension

I would assumed the original poster did due diligence before throwing parts at the car.

Yes, I love working on cars, have about $10k in tools and work on it often. I have checked and double checked and I'll check again just because. Just because I know mostly what I am doing doesn't mean I can't miss something or screw something up LOL Like I said when I got the new computer in and the new solenoids, it worked fine, car went up and I left it at that to see if it would drop overnight. It did drop, I found that I forgot to put the large o-ring on the passenger side solenoid, it was sitting in the passenger seat blending in nicely with the black leather LOL.
 
If I remember correctly there are two under the hood and one under the dash that reference Air ride or Air suspension.
 
If the front is slammed all the way down, is that enough to throw an instant check air ride and prevent the compressor from coming on?

why did the front slam?

it should not do that without a leak.
 
There are only 2-3 ways the air can get out...
1. the vent solenoid in the compressor leaks
2. the bags leak
3. the o-rings that seal the solenoids leak

The front slammed because as I said I forgot to put one of the large 0-rings on the solenoid on the passenger side.
