If its not one thing its a freakin nother.
I always hated wheel locks but since I was one Gorilla nut short I figured I would use them. Last night when tightening the last one the key broke. :( So how many different keys are there? Does anyone have one like the picture I am posting? If so I would pay to have you send it, ill take the locks off and send it back to you next day or 2-day air.
I dont want to use the removal tool as every time I seen one be used it has scratched the wheels. I really dont want to scratch these. Anny suggestions at all? I am all ears.

I'll have to look at mine, I still have the factory lugs and key in the factory bag. I found them in the trunk of my 96, they had never been used. I didn't even know they were there.

get a 12 point 3/4" socket pound it on the lock, take a ratchet and extension and carefully try to crack it loose, just went through this when i took the 12 spokes off my LSC to put on my 93 mark the 12 point saved my life

Wasnt using an impact, hell I was only using a short 4-way wrench.

I need new tires and Discount Tire said they can remove them. Gonna go order my tires now.

You better get in in writing that they can do it without damage to the rim/finish. DO NOT TAKE THERE SPOKEN WORD!!!!!!!! If they do any damage to the wheel do not leave in till it is in writing by the store manager and call the corprate office. Ive seen a few of my friends have this happen to them when they were getting new tires mounted on brand new rims only to have gouges left in the rims, the ones that left never got there wheels fixed/replaced the one that stayed there and demanded to talk to the corprate office ended up with 2 new rims.

This happened to my car too. 2 of them were real bad. Key and lugs didn't work together anymore. They just wore out from taking them on and off so many times (this was on my 250k mile 1993).

My garage (and I'm sure discount tire) has a tool they can hammer on the stripped key lug to screw it off. It actually works fairly easily. It makes me wonder what the point of wheel locks is if everybody can get this tool?!

I don't put wheel locks on my car anymore after this. I doubt anybody really wants my 14-year old rims anyway. :)

That sucks... I take them off for people $10 a tire... don't a few sets... I just weld a nut on them...

I never use wheel locks either because they can come off almost just easily as a normal lug nut.

Laser, have you ever heard of cropping or resizing a pic lol? 650 width works wonders.:p

Well as previously stated the only reason I used them is because I am missing a Gorilla nut.
And nolimit, set you resolution to a respectable level! :fuss:
Yeah, sorry. I do them at home where I have a good card and wide display then at work with a crappy card and old CRT the pictures are huge!

So I went to Discount Tire and told the guy about the wheels. He went out and looked at them and said he wont authorize the shop to do it cause he doesnt want to buy me a set of wheels. I can respect that.
He did notice that they were OEM though so I went to the dealer and they took them off for me. :D I figured screw it, they are OEM so I will still use them and I ordered a new key for $20. :wrench

I was digging thru my trunk when I got my car and found the baggy tha the locking lug nut key came in.. still had the code and everything on it. Of course Dealers can look them up by the VIN number nowadays... good work!

man and i thought i had bad luck you better go see a babalao.....(cuban witch doctor) hell fix you right up.

Im from Hawaii and we use the Kahunas. The Big Kahuna if you got pull. :D

+1-I have new locks on mine, just to slow down a thief, but I bought a socket from the Snap-On guy years ago that takes off any lug-it is tapered and real thin-walled, you just hammer it on, works on ANY lug or lock.

Fact is all you can do is slow them down, if someone wants your ride/wheels etc. they can and will get them if they want them.

A person that steals wheels for a living or is even a wheel thief, will have whatever tool is needed to take a lock off. A security system with motion and shock activation would almost eliminate wheels being stolen. That's saying the alarm system has a battery backup and is of quality.

Laser knows his quality when it comes to stuff like that, except pioneer and he should be able to get a deal from the place he works at.

Laser, when I take my pics, I use a Sony CyberShot 7.2 MP and set it on simple mode and they automatically come out at 640 width but there are other settings that throw pics up at 1200 width.

When I do phone pics, they are 1200 wide and I use a program called Triscape FxFoto that's free to download.
http://download.cnet.com/FxFoto/3000-12511_4-10304500.html

It's real quick to get the image and then save as and all you have to do is put in the 640 or 650 width and click ok. Done deal. It's also a fun program to play with too. has lots of options. My son has a 23" LCD screen lol and I have a 19" LCD. I haven't tried looking at your pics on his screen yet.

Screen size isnt as important as resolution settings. Turn your up from 640x480. :p
I forget what the home setup is set at but its over 1000 on both numbers.
And I have editing software too. AND if your camera is taking 640 pics then its set at 1mp or under.

every mark i ever bought with a locking set i took off and tossed them in the trash. my car never is far away from me at any point before someone makes off with my wheels i will have their head under the rocker and lower the car on it before they make off with them. i have a bunch of factory keys for that, they only made so many before they started over again. just bang a socket on them like mentioned above, thats what i do when i get one to part and the key is missing, i can have them off in 3 minutes!

My screen resolution is set at 1024 X 768 and all the pics you see me take are set on (VGA), meant for emailing attachments but I could set the camera for 3MP, 5MP, 7MP but it would just take up more space and be slower downloading for those that don't have fast DSL or cable internet.

OK fine, I will make all my pics smaller from now on. :p

Now that I am done giving you a hard time, I used to make them smaller before and then Stangnet started doing an automatic resize and people used to ask for pics of my Cobra all the time so I stopped shrinking them so much. Id take them at 10mp and shrink to 4-5mp and then SN would drop them down to 1MP resolution but if people wanted the higher res pic the could just click on the picture.

I had to take my locks off my CE using a 12 point socket. It was a bit of a pain but they came off.

A couple of months later, I found the key under the seat.:D

I'm just pickin atchya Laser but I do have to scroll from side to side to see your pics.I have to do the same with Jamie's pics and a few others. slick was another one that had big pics.

Anyway, good luck with the locks and don't lose the key. I wished I lived close to you so I could sneak out in the driveway one night when you're deep asleep and get that car up on blocks and take the wheels off and stack them on your back patio. Give you something to do before you go to work. All your nuts and locks would be under the bottom wheel in a bag.:D
