Why 8 people are better than ls people

Thanks for the compliment. The color was not the top on my list either. But it's grown on me.
 
I would never compare one to the other. It'a all about personal opinions. I think the LS has one of the sweetest front ends on a Lincoln in a while yet the back end makes me want to puke. I hate it enough that I would never get one. I'm sure for the LS owners they could say the same about our cars. Let's leave it alone, I think they are both great cars.
 
Ill run ya. :) Day I lose to a LS is the day I sell it and get another Vette. :lol:
 
Dammit, you're in TX. I've never raced a Mark viii before.

Interesting to see the outcome. Especially after my stall. :D

Better start saving for that Vette:p

I love my Mark but stock for stock a Gen2 LS will walk most Marks. I have been to the track with them and the only one's that could take me was one Gen1 Mark and Sean who has gears/stall etc. Mark's are a lot easier to mod though. Get those gears your planning in you should be alright.

No can do this weekend. Was supposed to go there with a bunch of Hemi guys, but I'm hopefully doing my exhaust this Saturday. Any time after that I should be able to make a Saturday trip to Atco. Ain't no way I'm getting up stupid early to drive to Cecil on my day off :D

And judging by your times, I won't stand a chance against you. I hope to be in the 13's.
 
If your lookin to run in the 13's we'd be a real good race motor to motor. Of course its all in good fun. Thats why I race. ITS FUN. Losing is also part of it. Nobody wins all the time. I was hopin NYC would show. Guy at my track has the same car. Tuned exhaust CAI all the regular stuff. His money felt good in my back pocket. by no means was I lookin to run for money with you guys. Hell my trany is running on borrowed time.

I know that's right. I just stopped posting over there completely. I got one email from that little prick because of something I said and it was nothing because I was typing on egg shells.

Now, I would race all of you but I don't have mods. All I have is dead weight in my trunk with amps, subs and a box and a transmission that has shudder at the moment. I am ordering the stuff I need for a 93 and a 98 trans this week. I am J-Modding both, doing front and rear seals on both and the 93 will be setting as a back up for a just in case purpose. The 94 that's coming out is going out to the curb after I get the new springs and piston out of it. The J-Mod will be my only mod! Not really into racing unless provoked at the light from 1st to 2nd gear.

You know how hard it is to get people to show up. Everyone wants to meet up at the track but hardly anyone shows up.

It's a lot of fun. And most people there are friendly and willing to help. Especially someone new and willing to listen. There is a learning curve but the basics of how to get down the track without looking like and idiot are pretty simple. Everything else is just practice practice practice.
 
Thanks for the info Rich. I thought he was at etown my memories alittle shaky. That was a sh!ty day at the track though. My girl didn't want to get out of the car either. Good times at least some peeps showed up.

Pektel I'd be more than happy to help out with the basics. Like Rich said most everybody is willing to help.

Was supposed to but plans fell through. My friend's one and only lift was tied up with one of those breakfast trucks for a few days. Hopefully this weekend is the one because the longer it sits in my apartment, the more I'm thinking of making a lounge chair out of the boxes. "Same old story", like you know me or something :lol:

Oh yeah, I didn't get out of the car that day because I was pissed I drove to E-Town, paid the 50 bucks or whatever the f*ck it was and they ran the 1/8th. And that was with me checking their site AND calling them before I left to make sure they were open since it was sh*tty out the day before. Not one mention of 1/8th only. You'd think with the money those clowns charge they'd at least divulge that info. Nevermind that God damn wind that day. E-Town aggravates me since the last few years it's become more about the money with them. I'd rather drive 12 hours down to Atlanta Dragway and race, but that's only a once a year event.
 
Thats all I need to hear NYC. Your right I don't know YOU. I might if you would have gotten out and socalized with the others. Rather than stay in your car and pout. Your right it was a :q:q:q:qty day. The 3 1/2 hour drive for that day at the track wasn't what I was hoping for either but I'm glad I got to at least meet some of the people hear. I thought thats what it was all about.

When I was bone stock I ran an LS V8, not sure what year, and he pulled a half car length on me off the line and stretched it to one car untill we both let off at 80. Since my tune I ran one at the 1/8th in Seven Points and beat him by .610 and since then I ran another V8 on 31 and pulled two lengths really fast but I am pretty sure he had issues. I heard his car downshift and stutter for a split second and then it started to take off.
Many times I have pissed off 5.7 Chargers, 300c and as of last week a RT Challenger. :D Ran many 4.6 Stang GTs and come out on top 70% of the time. On the other hand I have had a couple Neon SRT4s, WRX, Camaros and a G35 & 37 coupe whoop my ass bad and send me home with my tail between my legs. :lol:

Then there are the hard numbers.
LS8 0-60 7.1-7.5 (too many different ones so I listed fastest and slowest)
LS8 1/4 mile 15.4-16.1

VIII 0-60 6.9-7.2
VIII 1/4 15.2-15.6

So it seems stock the VIII is faster and hard to say who has the better tune but since the Mark has more power and is within 50 lbs all else being equal it should be faster. With both cars having gears and a trac loc that may change some as the LS has better weight distribution but the Mark can hold more tire so it can launch harder off the line. I have 275s in the rear, what can the LS hold?
