Just called the insurance co....

And I almost had a freakin heart attack!!!!!

They said the estimated repair will cost $7,000!!!!!!

Fukk my life!!!

I'm waiting for the person I have been trying to reach for days to call me back, I spoke with an assoctiate of his who told me all of the things that were in my claim profile...

my god...

I'm speechless... a total loss... I would not have thought in a million years my car was in that bad of shape!! The biggest part of the car was of course the air bags and airbag modules

They tried to tell me that the bumper and grille were one piece... I said uhh no, they are until you unbolt them! Geeze...

I started throwing numbers at the lady and made her head spin, all she could tell me to do is wait for dude to come back from lunch. And thats another thing... I can tell how dedicated this guy is to his job, I leave him voicemails saying I am only available from 12-1pm EST, and he takes his lunch at 12

All I gotta say is,

The War Begins.

Don't forget to contact Jamie. HE can prolly get you most of the parts, at a greatly reduced price.

Mine was a whopping 5500.00, i bought it back for 200.00 and kept the 2300.00 check.

and no the bags didnt blow.

Have you ever seen the cost of brand new oem mark viii parts? They are astronomical. Get a copy of the estimate and change the parts prices from what they are now, to what you could get them for and I think you would be suprised how much money you will save.

You had also talked about doing all the work yourself except for pulling the core support, which is going to save you ALOT of money. Just look at the total hours. Most shop are at $50+ an hour so you will save an unbelievable amount if you do most of the work yourself.

You may not want to count yourself out just yet.

I'm not counting myself out yet.... but I'm running out of time with the weather here in Cincinnati.. I can't take 2 months to finish the car... It'll have to be a quick thrown together FrankenMark for a while til I can muster up the money to paint it one day...

and after all this is done... I STILL have to fix the front suspension!!

I swear nothing is ever done in my life.

1500 for a hood and 1200 PER light???? wow... even the ford dealer by me said 1100 for a hood and 225 per light... thats rediculous... unless you have the HID housings...

Yeah every part on the front end is 500.00, air bags 1,000., if ya had hids your screwed.

I let them take it, after I stripped it (air shocks, wheels, tires - you name it I took...should be a thread from about 4 years back round here somewhere...). Had insurance pay me for all the mods cause I had all the receipts and it was w/i a few years of install. But if you wanna get back right, I'm sure LVC can find the parts ;)

Real sorry about your Mark, but thankful your ok!! ')

Smooches!

High miles= it is not worth fixing IMO. Just get another one.

Ive got regular headlights, not HID's, and that was a quote strait from commonwelth ford in richmond ky on the lights. Ive got the estimate somewhere around here. LOL just the cost of the hood totaled out my car since it had a rebuilt title already. Any way it goes i would buy it back if i were you. You could part it out and make a pretty penny off of the parts.

I parted out a 93 last december when i got to it the suspention, engine, transmission and entire front end were gone i payed 50.00 and a set of crappy 15 inch rims for everything i could take off of the car. I took the entire black interior out of it and swapped it onto my car (except for the carpet and rear seat) and sold 50% of everything else and made about 600.00. It was well worth the 10 hours laying in mud and ants in the middle of December!!!

It doesn't matter what they price the parts at if you can't buy them!

It's a sham and they know it.

You have to find the parts, find someone to do the work, front the money and fight for the check.

I'm generally not happy with my insurance co. The only person I can speak to apparently is never at his damn desk, when I call someone else they don't know if he is there... It's pissing me off, I gave the guy my cell phone number, and he still calls my house!! Mom told him to call my cell, he said he had it... do I get a call? NO!! I call there, he doesnt answer!!!! I'm of work on monday, and I'll be up bright and early to call him, if he is NOT at his desk... I'm going to raise hell.. how am I supposed to get this taken care of when I can't reach the person handling it?!??!?!?!?!

I was really hoping to have a check in the mail before the Columbus Fall Super Swap!!!

Just keep on them, it took me a month of calling 3 times a day before the girl that hit me's insurance company cut me a check. After 3 weeks they got me a rental car for 8 days and then had my check overnighted on the 9th day. The Insurance company's name was USA insurance.

stang have you talked to his manager yet? ask one of the others you talk to to forward you to his manager - but first get the managers name and number - then let them transfer you. Don't go bullestic on them, remember you dont have what you want yet.... ;) good luck hottie!

Debs right, dont go ballistic until you've gotten what you want from them.

Be firm, be persistant, waste ALOT of their time until you do get what you want.

I think I may have said something in another thread, but It is pretty much officially done now. I am getting close to 4K back in check form, and my buy-back is $375, Once I fill out some papers and take my title to the title office, I get my check and then It's junkyard hunting time!!

Is that a good deal? Are you getting back most of what you put in her? Sounds like it! Good for you Hottie!!!!

Well, sorta. I paid 1500 for the car a year ago, put 30K on it. and 4500 in it. So I mean, it's close, but Not what I would have liked to seen. Would have like to have seen a few hundred more. But oh well, I'm happy.

Now I just gotta get the core pulled/replaced and go to the junkyard and get my parts.
