Without a doubt, the very best air strut in the world is the "NEW FORD" O.E.M. air strut. Due to the constant problems of getting the aftermarket Mark VIII Air Struts, we now offer our customers the option of the NEW FORD O.E.M. STRUT ASSEMBLY...NOT REBUILT....NOT AFTERMARKET and NO CORE Charge and NO Core return on this item! In other words, no need to send back your old struts when your done. Mark VIII's are notorious for having bad hydraulics. Either binding, leaking or both! Don't take a chance on a rebuilt part when these NEW FORD O.E.M. struts are 100% BRAND NEW FORD. "Flat Rate" shipping is $22 to anywhere in the cont. USA. Strut kit includes o-rings to reseal your solenoids.

Holy crap, you ain't lying on the price! I was thinking of replacing my fronts when it comes time but now I might rethink it!

Considering they last around 10 years it is a STEAL compared to Arnott JUNK....

True, but considering that I don't plan on necessarily having this car for ten more years, it's hard to justify that kind of money for repairs. My car has 121,xxx miles on it and I just don't forsee it lasting ten more years. I've started to notice the common rocker panel rust from living in the mid-west and other little things here and there. She's a good car but I just don't see it happening.

1 air strut = almost as much as four new tires, sorry ford but I don't understand your math!

I guess over-priced parts is why ford didn't need the bailout!

What I always find annoying, but understandable, is that air springs and headlights from certain places do not have the same discount applied as do the other parts they sell. If I go to some Ford part sites one can get Mark VIII parts (New OEM) for CHEAP compared to the ones promoted on the boards here. Hmmm.... They know they cater to Marks so they up the popular parts price.

But this is FUNNY.... notice anything?

On another note. Eddie DOES have the best price I have seen on these. I am guessing he is not making a ton on each. Buy now before he changes his mind!!!!

Eddie's price looks great @ 369. I paid a bit more than that even with a jobber discount last year and the year before.

Back in 2007, one of the vendors (I forget which one) had issues with their supplier and were selling new Ford ones for $250/side. I snatched up a pair and thanked my lucky stars. Wish I snatched up two pairs, because while $740 a pair is cheap, $500 was a steal.

Good deal, thanks Eddie!

What exactly is the problem with the arnott struts? is it ride quality or do they just ware out quicker than the ford ones.

Arnott assembly is a completely different design and doesn't have the plastic section that the (newer) style Ford assembly has. Arnott also has a generally bad repuation with regards to quality.

Unity: That must be the added 'Lincoln tax' - Lol.

American Air has two big things the competition is lacking !

1. Eddie Spinks
2. Service

I had a set of Arnotts on my '96 a few years ago that lasted exactly 13 months. One month after the warranty ran out, the passenger side spring developed a sudden, explosive leak around the upper seal. At the drive-thru at McDonald's. The front just dropped. So I found a set of used '98 LSC air spring/shocks (my Mark VIII doesn't have "struts", is actually has an upper and lower control arm suspension. I know a guy with a '92 Mark VII. Now his has "struts" LOL) from ebay and used them until about six months ago. Unfortunately, due to the high prices of OEM air spring/shocks, I had to get the Arnotts again. That's all I could afford. And barely that. But I didn't want to get used ones again, because even though the springs were okay, the shocks were severely worn. But I'll use the Arnotts until they crap out again and then I may get some more ebay used ones. Just whatever the budget allows at the given time. But that God-awful outrageous price for an OEM air spring/shock is waaaaaay out of my price range.

413.21 + 5% tax is $433.87

413.21*1.05=$433.87

They just bumped our state tax to 6.25% here in taxachusettes!
