I went on rockauto.com to look for rear shocks but they don't list them on their site. So I have read that Ford T-birds would work also. I wanna know what year and model would fit the Mark VIII. I picked a 97 Ford t-Bird with a V8, would this be the right model that has the same rear shocks as the Mark VIII?

Yup, T-bird ones work. 4.6 sport versions and you need a T-bird shock bushing as well. ebay has some great deals on KYBs and Tokicos. I am gonna order a set of Tokico blues tomorrow front and rear. I was gonna get Illuminas but cant justify spending double the money right now.

I have the Bilstein's from an 03-04 cobra on mine, ordered them and the mounts from max. dont remember what I paid but it was worth it.

why not autozone or the like? i got Monro sensatrac's from there for $30 each.... work just fine. unless you want to go fancy and performance. i just got some to replace the stock ones.

Just take the Mark mounts off, burn out the rubber, and use the supplied rubber bushings with the Thunderbird shocks...

i like sensatrac's, specially the price , and they ride great, also gabriel shocks for a t-bird are like 20 for a pair and ride nice too, screw the high dollar shocks, go cheap and still ride great, why blow tons on shocks for a name?

Yea Shocks are shocks, for me....lol

I think I did ask about shocks from autozone but they didn't have it for the Mark VIII from what I remember. I will ask them for T-bird shocks, they might have those.

you have to ask for a bird, they dont have anything for the mark in rear shocks, but the dealer does, like $160 each something retarded like that!

Eddie at American Air sells two Monroes with solid mounts (better then stock) for 125 plus shipping.

Just fyi. :)

not just for the name they are way better quality
I notice the difference in handling I like to drive my car and the bilsteins I have are way better at over 90 and I mean way better
so don't go cheep if you want to go fast you are not just paying for a name

My bilsteins made a world of difference on my car too... I used to rub the tire to the quarter just driving down the road. Put the bilstiens on lowered it an inch and a half and still no rubbing.... Quite the stiff shock.

I just scored some Tokico blues front and rear for $200 shipped. :D
