heey wuzzup guys! my name is juan im from mexico i drive a Lincoln Mark VIII 1993 and i love IT! this forum is great!
also i have a problem, i bought the B&M's ShiftPlus+ Electronic Shift Improver and i CANT find the PCM and i dont know if it is EEC-IV or EEC-V and i need heelp! quick as possible please! see ya! thanks

First off don't put that POS on your car... it's not good fro the trans.

That being said you have and EEC-IV or OBD1....

Welcome to LvC!!!

I have no idea what that thing you bought is / what it does, but I doubt you need it. It's best to not waste too much money on a '93 trans, IMO.

PCM box: Look at your brake pedal arm - it's up and to the left of that.

The PCM is under the drivers side of the dash.

The problem with the B&M kit is all it does is ramp up the pressure in the trans, the mod I would recommend is the JMOD, it is a modification to the separator plate of the VB that lets the fluid flow quicker so the trans shifts harder.

The JMOD will help the durability of the trans... the B&M not so much.

yes i know about J-MOD but here in mexico i dont know where to do it, or where to buy the parts!, there are ford and lincoln dealers, but the are expensive as hell! so im just gonna keep looking and try this s..it out! thanks!

I had the b&m shift improver for about 3 days. It caused a check engine light and i never used it again. JMOD FTMFW

so the PCM is located in my left side? under the dash? or next to the door?

Under dash, left side of steering column, just up from your brake pedal. (actual brake pedal, not the park brake pedal)

Do not, I repeat Do not use an electronic ship improver on a Mark VIII, on a gen 2 you can damage the ECM, the electronic shift improver shares part of the heater circuit for the O2 sensors, at first after a couple days you will throw a code if you continue to use it you can do permanent damage to the ECM. I am not sure about the Gen 1.

somehow i ended up with one of these on my car. I never use the damn thing its a waist of money. but it has never thrown a code. So i just left it on there.

let the noob learn his lesson about not listening to advise. hell be back beggin.

thanks man! its an electronic shift improver check it out http://www.jegs.com/p/B-M/B-M-ShiftPlus-Electronic-Shift-Improver/748074/10002/-1 ... and is cheap so dont worry... so the PCM is located in my left side? under the dash? or next to the door?
