Or if you buy a gen2... or get HID housings lol...
The bulbs is where its different. I cannot tell you if the ebay bulbs are within specs for a 9006 or if they are offset in the base or if the bowl is near the same place as the halogen counterpart.
Nice! Are you using a D1S, D1R, D2S, D2R, or some other bulb? And are you modifying the base or housing in any way?
You are a dipsh!t & make me laugh!![]()
Unity, what are you talking, can you explain what you mean with the adapters? Prior, I thought you were talking about the bulb being off-center? That's what isn't ideal? Or?
What I really think is funny with this whole thread is that I took pictures that give evidence to the fact that the focus is spot on with Mafioso's kit, but nobody who is against it has mentioned the photo graphical evidence.... I guess I forgot everyone is an expert, and when real evidence and data is brought to the table as long as you ignore it you are still right lol...
The OEM HID lamp has a glass shell. As such, it looks off-center and even in the housing you can see that the opening for the lamp is off-center. The fact is though that the discharge point is NOT off-center. On another forum this was proven with photos, measurements etc.
New lamps dont usually have a glass shell. Either way, as you can see in the adapters above there is a raised inner ring consisting of three sections. For some reason the ring is thicker on one side than the other. That makes the HID off-center and thus focus off, etc....
But who cares, right?
Not sure why this kit would not work on your gen 1, but you have to ask him.
I think whats even more funny is that you don't even own a :q:q:q:qing Gen2 or a Gen1 with factory HID's....
Its true, the kit is practically the same exact thing as the 70 dollar kit off of ebay.
I've never seen this kit in person, but from the pictures I see no difference in quality. I purchased the ebay kit from a well known seller and couldn't be happier, I've had it for about six months now with no problems at all. I don't know how much this mafioso kit goes for but i wouldn't pay more then 75 for it when i can get the same thing off ebay for 70.
Just my honest opinion
And what's your point? I don't have to own a car with factory HID's to understand them or to work on them. That was a stupid comment.
My point is that you coming in here and bashing the hell out of Mafioso's kit is for no :q:q:q:qING REASON... you don't own a car that can use this kit, you don't need to buy this kit... and I think you should really just shut the :q:q:q:q up.
I'm not closed minded to other options... I shopped around and looked at all the available options and decided to buy Mafioso's kit...
I'm plenty handy and could whip up an adapter ring for an $80 eBay kit, but that's not the parts I wanted on my car. I made this thread about my experience with Mafioso's kit, I never said that this was the only kit available or the only option that there was.
This weekend I got to install the prototype HID low beam conversion from Mafioso. I tried to take as many pictures as possible, and try to accurately compare the output and beam pattern of the factory lights compared to Mafioso's kit.
I took about 100 pictures all together, and unfortunately most of the night shots of the lights are a bit blurry thanks to having a cheap digi cam...
I will also say that this kit was not the final product people will be getting and I am trying to help Mafioso refine the kit to make it as easy of a plug and play as possible.... even for the prototype it was a very easy install though.
No offense but they don't look any different than the $80 ebay kit except for the adapter plates. You can fab some adapters up fairly easy for a few bucks.
I would say it all depends on how much this kit will cost. If it's reasonable then it might be worth it since the adapters will be pre fabbed, If it gets into the $200 dollar range I would say no.
As far as I am concerned this whole focal point is a weak argument. One can easily compensate for that with the depth of the adapter & bulb.
My First Post
Turborich's First Post
When I read my first post it doesn't sound like I say anything about this kit being better, or the other kits being inferior... I'm just making a thread about my experience with Mafioso's light kit...
Perhaps you should shut me up! I doubt if you could.
haha, thanks again guys for the support and feedback.
