I bought swapped a 95 Rivi Supercharged for a 98 LSC with symptoms of a bad head gasket. I was recently approached about purchasing an 03 Aviator motor with 40K on it. I'm interested but I was wondering how much trouble I'm going to have swapping it into the Mark. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

it will work, but there will be some custom work and part hunting involved.
aviators have different heads and intakes.

He pm'ed me. He needs to do more homework. The 98 intake will not work on the aviator heads unless one swaps the heads over too. Which would be stupid really.

There is much to do. Read up, there are threads. The short list is: custom fuel rails, Cobra/Mach intake from 01 up, cobra exhaust manifolds (cheap $50), some steering shaft work, exhaust work.

F that, if I was going to keep and mod my mark, I'd be all over that aviator motor... Updated C heads and the ability to bolt on a SC.

It's not too bad, but it isn't a direct drop in.

Updated C heads

Well, ROTM did run a 12.81 with B heads. :p

Maybe things have changed but the fastest C-head Marauder NA ran a 12.9 :shifty:

Ooooh, that sucks. :D

Honestly, once forced induction comes into play any disadvantage the B-heads have over the C-heads become pretty negligible in my opinion. I've actually heard the flow comparisons between the 2 heads are not that mind-blowing. Doing the swap is going to be more mind-blowing than the results you are probably going to see.

C heads open up options b heads don't have.
C heads are a upgrade on a street car.
The parts needed can be found on the stang boards.

Check info on the aviator heads, I have read 03 and up are good heads but I have no experience with that, with some research you will find out.
