I saw this LSC today at Hooters. So many things wrong. Not to mention the backward wheels. This car only has 88k miles. I offered my services to repair the air ride. I don't know if he'll take it. I certainly don't like the hood ornament.

Looks like a 95 with those headlights, unless he swapped out the original HIDs. And wtf, why would you put that rediculous hood ornament on there?

For a car with 88K on the clock, it has a lot of gremlins. The wipers, the passenger power window don't go down, needs new tie rods, and other front end problems.

Huge fail on the hood ornament. My God Greg, you should have broke that thing off. Somethings wrong with the grill also.

I do have to admit one thing......That looks like CRAP!!!! Please tell me that is a photo shop ornament!

You do know that 95 was the first year for the HID's and they were an option? Same with 96, even if it was an LSC. Some people just chose not to spend the extra w/e $$$'s for the HID's from the factory. I have seen a few LSC 95's with the halogen headlights in the past 6 years around here and they were never swapped out by the owners. Two were Ivory and one was white but all 3 were 95 LSC's and 2 were original owners but didn't buy the car with HID's.

I'm pretty sure the HIDs became available on the late 95 LSCs, all the early ones had just regular halogens. Remember the early 95s have the different header panel that has to be modified to accept LSC lenses? Even the 95s that came with HIDs were recalled by dealers and converted back to halogen lenses and bulbs..from what I've read at least. I'm sure there are still some 95 LSCs out there that have the original HIDs in them..but not many, or none that I've ever seen at least..all the 95 LSCs I've seen for sale on the internet have the halogens.

So I guess I shouldn't put a Spirit of Ecstasy on my hood??

Yes, it was late 95's that had the HID's and yes, some header panels have to be modified to even fit the HID housings. Mine didn't but I have heard of some needing to be cut open. I think Chris had to cut his and Doug had to modify one to fit some HID housings. Sometimes you'll see people say they have 96 HID's but really, they have 95 HID's lol. The date on every set of HID housings will show 95, not 96. I wonder what the recall was all about anyway? I do know the Mark VIII was the first car in America to come out with HID's. Maybe they had some sort of glitch with them in the beginning... Probably some sort of ballast problem or something. Could be possible that they were put out on the cars before an HID approval date, being they were the first ones to have them, idk. I have mine boxed up with the rings and bulbs. Saving them for a rainy day. :)

Mine is a 95 LSC built in may of 95 it came with the halogens but when I converted to my HID housings I did not have to change the header panel. After my crash I had to use one from a 94 and that one I did have to cut to make the lights work.

Yeah not quite sure why they had to be recalled, but not all LSC lenses have a 95 build date, I have 2 sets currently, one on my car and another mint set in my closet, both of which have a month day and year of 1996..I had a crappy set about a year ago that I sold and I'm pretty sure those said 96 also. Unless you're talking about the front lense with that has "95mk" molded in or whatever it says.

No, you should have that hood painted in (WK) color code professionally and send it to my address. I'll send it back when you start driving yours again. :D

Have what I need shipped to my shop and ill make ya one.. then YOU have it painted :)
I think the knock-off Cobra hoods are kinda cheap aren't they? Which would be ideal, seeing that I'd cut it to pieces

Some ppl have no idea what they have! I also ran into a man with a '96 black on black LSC about 10 months ago. We exchanged #'s. I saw his car. Made me want to cry. Horrible spray paint on the hood. His LSC housings were SUPER yellow. Interior was nice but disgusting... Just poorly maintained. Did I meantion the car had 57k? Just a shame.
