I have never done the seafoam thing and to be honest don't know where to pour into to get the best result for cleaning the intake, cats, and o2 sensors. Doing 1/3 in gas tank and all the rest in the intake. If someone could send some pix of exactly where so that I don't fudge it all up. This is my daily driver and due to privacy rules in my apartment complex I will b in the boonies. So must a must get it right the first time. Lolz
All help and comments are wlcmd.
 
I do mine through the pcv. It's on the drivers side valve cover in back. I usually put half the can in a seperate container and let it suck it up. I then put the other half in the tank.

It might stall out really easily or it might take half the can like a champ.

Yep, and like sbcaprice305 said, get a bowl or another container that you can put the seafoam fluid in. Can't do it straight from the bottle. I tried to look at a pic online but couldn't find a close up one, so here is the general area. (Red circle)

The bottle opening will fit over the pcv, but it's alot easier doing it in a seperate container.

I found out it fit the last time I did it. ;)


P.s.Iirc, doing it through the brake booster hose was better but i've never gone that route.
 
K I know wat to do just get a small container put half or alittle more and disconnect the PVC valve and use that hose to suck up all in container. Does it matter on idle or do I need to rev the engine during because its only me by myself. I will need to rig up something or just stay on the idle cable
 
I leave the pcv on the hose. Do it at Idle. If at first it starts to bog badly stop and let it get back to normal and then continue. Once you get to the last bit you can let it suck till it dies if you want. Let it sit 10-15min and start it up. You can drive right away or rev it, just be sure to get the revs over 3k so the imrcs open up.
 
I use the brake booster line myself. Last time I did this. I used almsot the entire bottle. I kept trying to get it to hydro lock and shut off but it just kept sucking and sucking like it was a Taiwan hooker. Eventually the can just went dry. Shut it off for about 30 minutes let it soak started it up and damn near killed the neighbors. I don't know about others but I wouldn't mind seeing a video from when ya do it.
 
be sure to get it up to at least 3200 rpm's while it's being poured in; i cut a 1x4 board just the right length to depress the pedal..Berryman fuel system cleaner is also a good product for in the tank; it has tolulene as well other good stuff
 
From the looks of it everyone has there own little way of seafoaming. :)

Its funny that u mentioned that I have a can left over from when I did my TuneUp when I first got my mark. So I'll do most of the seafoam in the PVC and pour the rest plus beery mans in furl tank. I'll make a video of it bright and early in the morning. Have to go away to some commercial lots so I won't get in trouble and have no worries. And after I let it sit for 3o minutes or so I will hit the hwy for a 2o mile run at probably with overdrive off so I can get the RPMs up.

Do u have any pix of ur system setup on here somewhere. I would like to check it out. That's next on my list just don't want to over do it.
 
In my opinion, sea foam is just snake oil... It has been discussed everywhere a million times. The smoke show is simply the sea foam being burned and blowing out the exhaust. Most results are psychological, just like putting a tornado in your intake tube.

Save your money, do more research.

I tend to agree to an extent. However, I have seafoamed my '97 twice. And it produced quite a bit of smoke the first time around but substantially less the second. I used an entire bottle of seafoam drawn in through a 1/4" vacuum tube inserted into the "T" connector from the PCV valve to the intake manifold. The car seemed to run better afterward, but like you said, it could just be in my mind. But the smoke show is pretty cool :)

well i actually took my intake apart, 180k or so miles. and spent hours scrubbing the built up carbon and gunk out of the intake, IMRCs, and IMRC plates.

there is simply no way pouring some liquid stuff in a vac line is gonna help. no way.
 
No still a CEL byt waiting to see if it fixed it so giving it a few days before I reset manually

Did you buy that car from Jason? I'm sure that's the car I traded for a 96 Mustang GT convertible. I'm curious if the neon light is still working on it.
