After trying to search for some pics I found nothing, yet I know plenty folks have posted them before..

So let's see some! :)

I grabbed some 1" 11gauge steel tube from an old job today. I'm sure I can do something with 3x 5ft sticks

K-Member?

I made these a while back. 304SS

Good God. If there ever was a mark for auto cross or jumping on turnpikes quick DLF'S mark is the best. Great job man, that's impressive

Hey Rod, You do know that those shock nut tabs should point up, right? ;)

Racecougar : did you notice any real difference with the rear shock tower brace?

 They can, or they can sit that way, too.

Every little bit helps. It does make a noticeable difference, but the big players are the subframe connectors and the K-member to frame connectors.

off subject-exhaust....what difference does it make having that '2 in/2 out' muffler behind the TC versus having two mufflers at the back of the car?
I just redid my exhaust, with 2 mufflers at the back; the 2.5'' duals meet and blend near the TC without a muffler

The reasoning behind choosing the Magnaflow was that it has a X-pipe built into it, weighs less than dual rear mufflers, and sound preference. Someday I'll redo the exhaust on that car using nice mandrel bends mainly just so that it looks nicer, but the layout (mid-mounted muffler) will likely remain similar.

racecougar, does that car get street driven much?

It isn't my daily driver, but yes, it's main use is on the street. In fact, it saw 500 miles (in one day) on the Hot Rod Power Tour this year, in addition to the regular 200-250 mile Hot Rods & Handlebars Cruise that I take it on every year. Honestly, the car is far more at home in the twisties and on the street than it is at the drag strip. I only make it to the track two to three times a year.

the guy created a true x-pipe, not x-crossover this past weekend...the car sounds a little less flappy from the outside, but it created a bowel-loosening drone inside the cabin, almost sort of 'varty'?; I need something else..maybe an H instead of X? maybe GP resonators before the x? maybe a magnaflow x muffler like you have there? I have FM 40's at the rear bumper..maybe they should go away so it sounds better outside?

:D:D

funny stuff since I have been considering pretty much this same set up, I may need to reconsider.
i dunno how to find that balance between aggressive outside growl/chainsaw rip and inside mellowness....maybe like Racecougar has.....a muffler behind the TC and nothing at the bumper

A muffler or resonator mounted mid-body will significantly reduce the drone you're hearing. You're still running cats, right? They have a significant impact on noise level as well.

Here are links to a few videos if you want to get an idea of what my setup sounds like.

factory cat after each exh man is still in place....3rd cat and factory resonator were removed..
.I guess exhaust is like a lot of other mods: do a few things you don't like first, then find what you like, my exh mech suggested adding a GP res. on each side after the true x- pipe...I'm thinking more about replacing my x with MF like you have...try that for a while, then maybe pull the FM's from back at the bumper if I want it louder
...thanks for the tip!

Exactly. If you wanted to target drone at 1500 rpm for instance, the quarter-wave attenuators would need to be ~33.75" long.
