WOW!!! Those are some bright arse foglights. Sweet mod,

What kind of rims are those?

I hope you sealed those fog lights up better than what it looks like.

can u actually drive just with the fogs on???? is there enough light?

Should be. Our fogs are almost exactly like High beams. I use yellow bulbs but wanna switch to 6000 K now but with yellow bulbs it looked fine. In Europe & Japan lots of cars came with yellow headlights in general. It does actually emit a good amount of light and helps with shadowing.

You know, as it was getting darker out the other day I actually got pulled over by a PA trooper coming back from the lake for driving with only my fog lights? Now I gotta go to court in a different state and tell these idiots that you actually are supposed to use fog lights without any other lights while in fog like I was!

my fogs arent that bright, i have the hoen fogs off of LSK. i was thinking about upgrading to hid but dont want to spend the cash if they arent as bright as headlights would be. Ive been searching ebay for a 2.25 diameter projector housings to mate with my 04 lse fog housings. now that would be bright..what do u think

Should be but you will loose functionality during foggy situations with brighter bulbs and higher k's.

ya but it will be worth it to me because i have horrible night vision. i shouldnt even be on the road lol

Big +1 on that!

Need to eat some more carrots. See if that helps.

I scared the wife on the way to the last LvC meet because I got 'tunnel vision' heading down this pitch black country road and I slammed on the brakes because I thought the road ended! - Lol.

BTW, I'm from Europe. Never seen cars with yellow headlights or fog lights?

Maybe something they do in some European countries like France? I dunno... :shifty:

hahahha, ive done that more than once, once while driving down the highway here in illinois i thought the road was turning abruptly but i quickly found out that it was still going straight when i hit the " o crap im driving into the ditch " Lines. it was crazy and my woman was pissed

Yup, my wife was mad too - we'd been driving for (on and off) around 25 hours - Lol

tubbyLS6: Yup, looks good - whatever helps light up the road better!

The more light, the merrier I say!

double post BRIT

ha. Ive also done the slam on the brakes thing on country roads. sometimes it seems the road just disapears

thanks for the comments, gt95, i used a spray, rollinls the rims are ASA, jwerner i sealed them up good. and lsunv2, yeah i can drive with them on and see pretty good and with the low beam Xenons even better, dont forget guys my windsheild is tinted also.

so what hid kit should i go with for the fogs??? are the ebay hids any good or is it better to just spend 300 on a good set???

Actually France is one of the Countries. Lots of Eastern European ones also.

Same with Japan, that's where the craze over here came from as far as styling rather than function.

Im sure they did it around England but I dont think its as big as it is elsewhere and Im not even sure if they still do it now with the use of HID's today. I have seen sets of OEM fogs and headlights on older BMW's and VW's.

Tubby, how much did this retrofit cost you? I would have just gotten the kit that fits our lights.

EDIT: Oh and Mercedes, how many do you see here in the US with the yellow high beams? It is on older cars but it was a big thing.

I disagree with your statement about the use of foglights alone. Rarely do fogs cast enough light on the road for you to actually drive safely.

Many states require the use of HEADLIGHTS at/near/before dusk regardless of conditions. Remember that not all cars come equipped with FOGLIGHTS so the use of them alone is sometimes neglected in the law.

Good luck with your arguement though. Let us know.

the hid kit didnt cost me anything, i had radom xenons in my garage that i had for yr's i have Benz ballast but no ignitor, then i had like 3 acura ballast but only one worked and 2 nissian and only one worked, but its real easy to fit the bulb fit nice in the back and to keep them in there and water out i putty

next two major body projects i'm going for making the hondacivic front lip fit the LS and making a rear window spoiler. the only thing i want to see if i can buy a made one and mod it to fit or if i have to make one from fiber glass

My argument is that it was not actually dark out yet just very poor conditions.

Everywhere I read about fog lights suggest to use them only and it is true. If you use both fogs and headlights you are defeating the purpose, there is to much light reflecting off the droplets that gives that wall like effect.

My fogs are more than bright enough alone to light things up at night but I do use the high beam bulbs as a cross reference.

Tubby, yellow fog lights really do help out. Think about skiing/snowboarding and how people use yellow tinted goggles. The only thing about that is to watch out for those damn yellow/orange fences:shifty: You might hit one but I dont see those on the road to often:D

Yours should actually be ok since it is a film/painted lens rather than a yellow bulb. It will act like a filter and filter out some of that high output.

The roof spoiler is easy! I got everything needed and Im just waiting till spring.
