Would this be considered cops harassing my Mark VIII ???

My registration on my Mark VIII has been suspended since July 26th '11 until Nov 26th '11, which is the earliest date i will be eligible to end the suspension, for not renewing my SR22 on time and getting caught by police.

Since the beginning of August, my vehicle, which has been parked in a private parking lot of the apt complex i live, has been getting tickets for invalid registration almost every other day. In the early going, I was fortunate to catch up with some of the sheriffs as they were issuing the tickets on the spot to show them the letter from the state notifying me of the timed suspension on my Mark and to arrogantly prove that there's no need to issue me tickets that are going to be nullified in the end because of the letter I had received from the state.

As it turns out, even though I've taped the letter to the front grill and back trunk above the plates and inside the front windshield by the wipers where they leave the tickets, I've still managed to amount 31 tickets so far for invalid registration, each of em asking for a $75 handout, most of them issued by the same 3 star #s I had personally spoken to and showed the letter to in all my arrogance.

But here's where it gets kind of shady. On 4 occasions I found the car in the morning with two tickets by same 3 star #s that have been spamming me. Say for example 1 would be for 9/12/11 at 11:42pm and then the other one being issued at 1:19am 9/13/11 & placed right next to the other ticket. Best part of it all is that on one of these double ticket nights, both tickets that were issued were by the same sheriff!!

What in the world are these "sheriffs" thinking to engage in this insolent behaviour?

Is why I'm eagerly awaiting to hear from the law firm i emailed that was involved in a recent class action lawsuit against Cook County with a $55 million settlement for unlawful strip searches at the county jail. Maybe I can add this to their rep sheet because whether or not my plates are suspended, I don't think they can legally do that kind of stuff with the tickets.

In the meantime, what do yous think?

Harassment, toss Cook County another class action lawsuit or "shut up and pay the damn fines! " ?

sounds like they dont like you. i went through something similar with a suspended licence issue in florida. it wasntr suspended, i had the proof of the paid ticket and new license issued after, but for some reason their computer still showed suspension. same douchebag pulls me over coming home from work 4 fridays in a row, dirty sweaty, etc and takes me to jail where i sit all weekend only to let the judge let me out on mon. took almost two months to clear it all up, by that time they considered me a " habitual" offender which the dmv suspended me for 5 yrs! that took a lawyer and 3 months to fix. sometimes tou just gotta..........

I think you should go talk to an attorney and see what he says. If he says it's worth fighting weight out how much the fines are compared to attorney/court fees.

when i was in high school i had a little bmw in a little town called gallatin tennessee. my jr year i had 2 cv strker 12s and a sounstream davinci amp is stolen out of my car. the school cop just shrugged his holders like well it is just a sound system. i looked at him, and all 6 ft 5 in and 300 pounds of me snapped. I cussed him up and down informing him that 2 felonies had been committed. theft over 5000 and theft/vandalism on government property. this idiot comes back with a tool box and pulls out some fingerprint dust. and READS THE INSTRUCTIONS. at this point i am livid, looking in my car to see a broken recaro seat, my dash looks like someone took a hammer to it and they took a crowbar to my trunk. completely destroyed my pride and joy. so he does his thing and I just get in my car and leave. :q:q:q:qing pissed.

wouldnt you know I get pulled over 16 times in 30 days. Keep in mind i am not from this little town. a friend of mine informs me that this town has whats called a "black list". they would pull me over and commence disassembling my car, knowing that it pissed me completely off. telling me that i had a tail light out. the old e30 bmws had an on board computer that would tell you when you had a bulb out. so to make a verry long story short, in the end i get 14 of the 16 tickets thrown out and 2 officers cited for harassment. I will never forget the judges name judge kittrel. she fuggin rocked. it didnt stop there ether i get 37 tickets in 6 mo. i got soo sick of it I started running from them. never once did i get caught running, NOT ONCE.

injustices happen like this every day. it is a gd sham that we have to live our lives in fear of who is supposed to be protecting us. free my ass, if they don't like you, you are a criminal. if you are different, you are a criminal . plane and simple.

It's why I say the sheriff's are operating with something other than logic because they should not be coming onto private property unless they're called for assistance, much less to ask for donations(issue tickets) from a parked vehicle on that private property. If anyone should be patrolling it should be the drivers of the towing company associated with the property to check for vehicles that don't have the parking sticker for overnight parking in the lot.

Welcome to the IL state. You can't park a car in your damn drive way without proper tags and insurance. Ask me how I know. You can probably get all but one of those tickets dropped but I doubt it. You will need a lawyer or hit the law library. Ask me how I know. Cops are focksticks. Ask me how I know.

The cop or pig you are playing house with is trying to get your car. He figures if he tickets you enough they will toe the car and you won't be able to pay to get it out of the yard. Ask him how are the wife and kids and remember the police are Judge, Jury and Executioner. Don't let them plant drugs and if you can get someone to move the car for you please do. Don't play with them.

This is why I refuse to move/drive to Chicago. Money Money Money is all they want. It's very crooked, well the whole state is for that matter.

Chicago is a great city though. I love visiting, I just take the train whenever possible so I can avoid any ticket/parking related issues.

I hate living in his county as well, good thing I'm fortunate enough to live only a few miles from the lake county border so I can buy my gas there, and anything else they tax the hell out of. They can come onto and ticket on private property. In Mass we can only have (1) unregistered vehicle on any given property. No clue what the law says out there but I would think they would fine the land owner and not the actual car. The cops are just doing their job. They yanked my 88 tbird off of Boston streets because it stayed in the same spot for 2 weeks - fully registered and insured just not driveable. I was about to pull it into the driveway and fix it when it was yanked. Fockers busted the parking pin and snapped the ebrake cable when they pulled it out. They called it abandonment, yet I was at the tow lot before the tow truck and I was at work when this happened. They suck but they have a job to do. You have to be able to take care of yourself and handle all issues you create - sorry; that was a hard lesson for me to learn too.

It doesn't matter, if its not indoors, in IL they can ticket you all they want. If you have your car in the driveway with no plates-they tow it. Your car has to valid tags on it no matter where its at unless its indoors.

GET A LAWYER. That's :q:q:q:qing wrong. And what are they accomplishing by giving out more tickets? It's not like the car is going to miraculously move and get registered because you can't at this point! And from what I have been told personally by dispatch when I had an issue with someone at a former complex where I lived, cops have no right (at least here) to come onto the property unless they are called. I called because someone was illegally parked without a permit and the dispatcher told me there is nothing they can do. Talk to management. That's one of the many reasons I left that :q:q:q:qhole because the management didn't want to put the effort into resolving the issue either. In my opinion, you are responsible for ONE ticket. I would wipe my ass with the rest of them.
