What the heck kind of chip do I have "MAX RPM"

what do i clean these contacts with and can someone circle the contacts so i know for sure

Contact - the point in which two or more object make CONTACT.

A scotch brite pad (cut a small piece off) works well.

yes, i know that. but there is more than one place where there is contact

(talks real slow)

put the chip on the table like you were going to take a picture of it.

THEN

go outside to your car, leaving the chip on the table.
Pull your PCM down and look where the chip fits into the back of the pcm

THOSE ARE THE CONTACTS clean both sides

(breaks the plastic babyfood spoon and tosses in the trash)

yea, but you gotta actually PICK it up and APPLY force.

the internet is just a little bit behind for us to be able to "jump out of the monitor and choke hi.. I mean help him"

Viking, you know where the chip was plugged into? The metal CONTACTS on the factory computer are what need to be cleaned. Dissconect the battery, take the puter out, get a small piece of scotch brite pad and gently clean the contacts on the ECM.
Those are the contacts everyone is referring to.

What a t00l....

I already told you to use a scotchbrite (well, I said brillo) pad to clean the contacts. But you're asking so many flipping questions, even YOU can't keep track of all the answers. Use the forking search feature, you're not the first guy with Mark VIII problems.

People are trying to help you, but you know what? There's a point where they will just say "enough of spoonfeeding this moron". Why don't you show some god damned initiative and try to find the answers before you post yet another question that's been covered before!?

.

this is the exact technique that causes connection issues.
at first glance it'd seem to be good solid data, but in the end.. it isn't.

the real way to clean the contacts is to take the 4 small screws out, there is one in each corner, split the halves of the pcm case apart THEN clean both sides of the PCM board.

With the cover intact you can only clean the "ends" of the pcm board and the chip makes contact further up the board than you can "effectively reach and clean".

Do it right, do it once and be "done doing it"

Yeah, I forgot how very specific you have to be here. When I said remove the computer I was talking about taking it out of its case. I have learned that over 12 years ago with my 97 Cobra and having Diablo chip problems.

How do you like your Sniper tune?
