So since I now have my daily driver I won't be driving the mark as much and for the next 6 months or so it won't be able to be garaged or at least not all the time. When not in use I'm going to have to leave it outside at my parents house in the driveway..luckily there's no trees around but I just don't like the idea of it baking in the sun and getting rained on and sh*t on by birds for days at a time. Soo I want to get a car cover that's able to be used in all weather conditions without rubbing and ruining the paint.

What kind of covers do those of you who store your marks for long periods of time use? I'd like to find something that has some kind of moisture barrier so when it gets rained on it doesn't soak through..also prefferrably something that is a tight fit so it doesn't blow around in the wind. Any suggestions would be appreciated..thanks!

Cool thanks ill go check it out and see how soft it is..there's a pep boys right by my house.

Nothing useful to add but as I was scrolling down fast, I notice we like the right side of our Mark VIIIs better since that is what we have in our sigs.

Oh, that's funny. Hmm. I wonder why? It does seem like most of my pics are of the right side. :shifty:

I use the mid-line Budge universal car cover. It is the grey, size# 4. Fount it at W-mart for $29. Its got a tight fit with elastic band at the edge. Made of breathable polypropylene. Also has eye loops for the included rope to keep it from being blown off by strong winds.

And I have it under a 6 mil plastic sheeting to keep it dry when it rains.

CE coat.jpgDepends on how much protection you want. My CE sometimes has to sit outside while I work on another car. I bought a STORMPROOF cover from Car Cover USA. It has been covered in snow and rained on. This year we were hit with max pollen. In one day everything turns green. I just hosed off snow and pollen and was amazed how everything rinsed off. The car was dry when I removed the cover. These covers are made for your car, I even got the same color. I got the mirror pockets which makes it easy to remove and install for one person. The hold down cords work great It cost a lot but was worth it to me. They have many different kinds and prices. Their service and quality is top shelf to me. It cost me $300 but well worth it.

I remembered I asked a question about car covers last year and finally found the thread after searching for a half hour straight..and someone sent me a link to this same site. I like the car cover usa covers..they say they're all made to fit your specific car..I might go with the silverguard plus one. I just want something that doesn't allow moisture in between the cover and the car.

+1, minus the plastic sheeting..I've had it about 3-4 years now and the Georgia sun has diminished the shear integrity...now it tears easily..needs to be replaced;
- but I park in my garage (if i ever move my white '96 from in there!) or in a parking deck at work 95% of the time

Wish I had a parking garage to park in at work..I would probably drive it daily during the summer if that were the case..but it simply sees way too much sun..if I don't get it off the road and out of the sun all the time its gonna start fading all the black trim away..which will piss me off. A friend of mine uses one of those budge wallmart specials and I'm not impressed. Looks really thin and the material feels like freakin sand paper. I'm sure it would be fine just parked in a garage with that cover but I wouldn't want to leave it outside with that budge cover on it..I feel like it would ruin the clear coat after one windy day.

you're right, it is thin and will tear easily;

the parking deck is one advantage of working at a hospital, kind of balances all the sick people, lol

I'm kind of dense so i don't really 'get' using a cover while parked in the garage...but then again Maaco painted my car!
