That was my thought, plus tighten bolts I can reach, if any are loose, unless someone had something better to put in than Lucas.
Again thanks for all the input. I'll let you know if it works. I assume since the oil needs changing, take the Lucas and have it put in, in place of the 6th quart of oil?

What do you mean "have it put in" can you not change your own oil?

I guess some of us live in places where we can just dispose of oil. I dump mine over the fence. Keep in mind, It's rare for me to even change it because I use fully synthetic and don't drive it that much. Nothing over that fence that I'm hurting anyway besides leaves and pine needles. :shifty:

i use oil to kill grass in between the cracks in my driveway.
and i think my walmart recycles used oil anyway for no charge.

once you change the oil pan normally you will have a couple more leaks soon there after, oil filter housing valve covers, if they havent been done yet.

Ooooooooooooooo, I cannot believe you admit that! Really bad for our environment. Collect it in the reusable round collection used oil containers and go by any oil change plave including Walmart and they will let you dump it for free. He's a bad bad boy!

Much easier to just walk out back and give it a good throw.

Some people are environmentalist and don't like it when you say you dump your oil on the ground lol. I bet 10,000 people just got through doing it as fast as I typed this.

your right. it is a problem. next time, i will dump my oil on an environmentalist instead of the ground.

If I had my own place in the middle of nowhere i wouldn't think twice about doing it.

Though i'd prob atleast dig a little hole for it.

It won't always be in the middle of no where, plus if it gets into the water table underground, then you have carcinogens!

OMG, go pull out your headrests.....:D You get carcinogens off the Burger King grill when you eat a hamburger. Take yours and have them do it. Your oil will probably be mixed in the next persons car.

i cant stand when people cry about mother when we are the polution to the earth. ask environmentalist to do the earth a favor by eliminating the polution. too many people exist and waist so much i dont want to hear it. the only way to go green is apocolypse.

I usually "dispose" of my oil in the sinkhole in the back yard. It's about 18" diameter and who knows how deep. It showed up a couple of years after my house was built. It's at the corner of the area where they buried all the trees they cut down when they cleared the land for the house. I tried to fill it in, but every time it rained, it would be back. So I figured what the heck, it's nowhere near my well or septic. So I've been using it for several years:D

I've nothing but bad luck with Lucas stuff I've tried in the past (oil stop leak on my Escort did nothing, tried it in my VII as well without any benefit, PS stop leak on my VII turned the fluid to sludge and it actually froze in the cold!)
I used Restore in that Escort and it actually stopped the oil leak, though I really think it just slowed it down enough so it never hit the driveway between washes as I could still see oil on the side of the pan at times.
Then again, I also used Duralube in my Merc years ago when it was the big thing and I knew so little, lol... I blew the engine 2 days later.
I avoid additives now really other than the odd can of Seafoam, as none ever seem to do anything/much...
