What daily driver would you get?

Hmm here I was thinking of all the different ways I can call you a douchebag and you come back with a mostly civilized response. Eh, say whatever you want, assume both cars can cut a 1.7 or so 60', even an NPI (and especially an LS2) is gonna have more breathing room up top.

I love the oxymoron here

next time you attack someones intelligence... make sure you use the right instance of "YOU'RE"

BTW, I'm pretty sure that was intentional. For teh lulz, if you will.

assume both cars can cut a 1.7 or so 60'

but that is assuming too much, the way I build my cars their advantage would be from a stop... that's pretty much all there is to it

I worry myself with traction and launch capability BEFORE I resort to big power mods... a big cam and stall would be nothing for me to go out and purchase... but until I have a $2,000 pedders complete drag suspension in the rear and 15x8.5's and 15x4's (which need to be custom made from scratch due to my bolt pattern) I won't

as I've said before, yes... NORMALLY an LSX's advantage is from a roll because they like the top end... but it all depends on how the person that owns the car is shaping the car to perform... and the 4L65E doesn't like the top end as much as it's T56 counterpart... the 4L65-E coupled with the stock gearing of the GTO makes for a car that is more impressive off the line, the T56 probably has the most advantage from a 55MPH roll

I'm sure you will just disregard this and start throwing out names again but in essence that would be like me telling a supra owner that his advantage is from a roll because he has a supra... when in reality his car is running the stock twin turbo's at max PSI with sufficient cooling mods on a 3600 stall through a built automatic and 15x9" Mickey Thompsons out back... but don't get me wrong, 99% of supra owners do not mod this way... but they are out there

Build a car???

You have no idea how to build a car.

You bought a car and made a few well known mods to it.

Now your an internet hot rod troll.

Don't you have a mustang board to moderate?

OHV and OHC engine builds are something I am very familiar with, and it's the heart and soul of a car... so please, don't pretend like you know something about me

unless of course you are one of those tough guys that thinks they can just piece together some sheet metal for a body and make a truck body then take a chunk of iron stock and CNC an entire longblock in their garage

lot's of animosity and childish name calling from you... but very few facts and credible information being shown... seems to me you are going out of your way to cry about someone who gets under your skin

I never came here to get people upset, but I came here to talk cars... and I do it rather well and can bring a lot to the table, and when I know what I'm talking about it doesn't really make sense to yield the information on account of people like yourself getting all worked up over it.... this is a AUTOMOTIVE forum... so when i talk cars and divulge into certain platforms and make discussion about them what do you think people like you who jump in and go "HOLY SH*T GAY! IMATOMATOE!" during the discussion looks like?

now I can tell that MediumD and yourself know a bit about cars as well in the same regard, so why don't you JOIN IN on the conversation and make it more in depth rather than ridiculing it like a passing teenager

@ Laser

sorry to hear about the laying off

but I would agree on the crown vic as well... good little DD'ers that rival sherman tanks xD

that or a continental/town car... all three are pretty reliable and get their intended jobs done well

Well Bill,

It was a bad u-joint in the Turbo Coupe causing the slight vibration like I thought.

That was a lot better than the pinion flange/bearing coming loose.

No pretending.... its pretty obvious.

Actually I would machine the block at work.
That doesn't make me a tough guy.
I'm not much for hand forming body's I like the sheet metal that came out of Detroit.

Look in the mirror Stallone.

You came here to say "look at me" and troll this board.

Have fun with it.

Oh well, too bad for me. :(

Oh yes! FTMFW!!! I soooo love her. If she was half nekkid and then put my hand on her wooo hooo and said "How you say? Shaved?" then I would have jizzed myself too.

I had a 351 87 Vic and a 90 Caprice. They were both neat cars and could take an absolute beating! I think the Vic is the best choice. Stopped and looked at one today. 02 Silver with bad bad paint and holes in the roof and bald tires so I figured $1000. Go ask the guy how much he wants and he said $6500...... I thought Sapperfire was gonna punch him!

Go with the Vic. I had an '86 Vicky police car that I bought at a state surplus auction for $351 bucks back in 1992 or '93 or somewhere around there. It had the EFI 302 with duals (just the plane-jane 160hp version, unfortunataly) and heavy duty suspension . No carpet, just a rubber floor cover. But it did have all the power goodies and a/c. It was a pretty good car. It was solid black, and years later, when I saw the movie, Men In Black, I said "hey! there's my car!". Anyway, it was a pretty solid car. But got terrible gas mileage. Usually 16-18 at best. Anyway, the best "daily driver" I think I've ever had was a 1987 Mustang hatchback 2.3L 5-speed with T-Tops. If I'm not mistaken, '87 was the last year of T-Tops for the Mustang. It was red with red interior and had all the power options. By the time I sold it, I had installed '88 Thunderbird Turbo adjustible shocks and struts (with a soft/firm switch wired to the dash under the radio), T-Bird Turbo 3.55 rear end w/disc brakes (tires rubbed a little, but not bad), TC 16" snowflake wheels w/P245/50R16 tires, TC front disc brakes, TC bucket seats, TC f/r sway bars, TC dual exhaust (modified to fit), and a tubular header from a stock 1979 2.3L Mustang. The engine wasn't modified at all. And it didn't have a lot of power. But it handled great and got 30mpg every day. I really miss that car.

Laser, I drove my '94 GT daily for almost 5 years... and never had too much of an issue with it except when it snowed. But back when it was stock it wasnt too gawd awful bad to control (it is a stick shift 5.0L). Had 129K on it, and now sitting in my driveway as a back up car/play toy with 230K on it... so the 5.0 is a very reliable engine, and so is the T5 provided that you arent going to throw a blower or nitrous on it and try to do some WOT powershifts, lol

I am not sure what the weather is like down there in the "winter months" but I agree with the other fellas... a Crown Vic/Marquis would be nice. You could probably get a Marquis with low miles pretty cheap from an estate sale or something since old folks never beat on their cars, lol, heck that's what i'd do if I didnt have my 4x4 Ranger.

You could always get a used Ford Escape... they came in a stick shift back in like '00 or '01, and can be had at a fair price. That would be a fun little DD with part hauling/people hauling capabilities. I almost had one myself but stupidly didnt have any cash for a D/P

I wouldnt get a car that you would be tempted to do anything to. I wanted a Crown Vic before I realized thats a bad idea living in an area that gets snow... and if I had a C/V... it would get exhaust, intake, gears... and pretty much would be a bad DD in bad weather.

My '94 isn't the greatest in bad weather anymore either. My 315 Nitto DR's are getting some wear on them and don't do so well in the rain anymore. (they used to be great in rain... and I've also driven on them in snow!)

Also, having a DD isnt always about having a "Nice" car either, although I also find that hard to fathom sometimes... and a Civic/Corolla would surely pay off with lower insurance and higher gas mileage in the end!
