Hi Guys! Im new here - been lurking LaserSVT's project thread after falling in love with his MK8 on Stangnet.

I had a friend back in 1999-2000 who bought a 98 MK8 LSC - Pearl White - it was gorgeous - I always lvoed the car but those years especially are not an easy find -

I wanted to know. What interior options came with the Pearl White. I have seen Beige, Light Grey - but was there a black leather option?

If not - what does it cost roughly to swap out the interior with donor parts - is it something you can do yourself or does it require a pro?

Let me know guys & Thanks!!

The swap is easy. There are actually quite a lot of black/black m8s lurking out there. I used to own one, and can think of atleast 5 off the top of my head here that are members. Doing it peice by peice can get expensive, and they only difficult part of the swap is the dash, if you swap it.

I really want black on white or white on white - I guess I just need a donor.. hmmmmm

Im hunting online and locally for 97-98 LSC's and man, not an easy find =/

You are in luck, Jamie parts out M8s as a side business. I don't believe he has any full cars at the moment, but he would be the guy to buy parts from. Look for Jamie97lsc on here. He is out of the Tampa area.

Awesome man! Thanks a ton - Thats close enough - I just need to find a running one thats in good enough shape on the exterior.

I think this project will be cheaper then my fox convertible.

haha I didnt say "A Fox Project" I said "My fox Project"

This one started :q:q:q:qing me good!!!

$1400 for the car
$1800 for the rear main engine seal, flywheel resurfacing, Clutch, and rebuild of tranny.

Now it needs something to stop leaks in the exhasut - which is too nice to junk and re-do - seems to be leaking power steering fluid and the rest is all stupid little things like door handles, locks, etc etc - then I need to sand/paint.

Atleast the MK8 will be a comfortable ride, and I wont be sucking in carbon Monoxide on my ride to work :-P

Hello to all!! I am new also but have been enjoying the site for a year now. I live in Tamarac, Fl. and have a 1998 LSC that you may be interested in.

you could buy a gen 2 in white with black interior and also black with ivory interior, i parted out a black with ivory interior about 6 months ago, it was the first one i ever saw in that color combo, i knew they were produced, but very rare. there are lots of marks down here in florida finding one wont be a problem it all depends on how deep your wallet is.

LOL I don't know how you guys get so lucky by finding good deals on them. Right now there are only 11 Gen II Mark VIIIs for sale in jax around a 500 mile radius:eek:(ONLY autotrader) There are abit more on Craigslist but most are the ugly tan color.

Good luck Body in your search and project, these are wonderful cars to own.
