Well, I guess if you a ninny and only drove it to church on Sundays, you'd only have to change the oil on it every other year as well. But, for the majority of people who drive the car on a daily basis and have had to suffer with the coils going bad, changing them to the same crappola coils only delays the inevitable... changing them again. So yes, you'll probably be fine with your second set of coils.
And yes, it is the coils and not how the car is driven. Mustangs, Expeditions, even the Taurus I owned, all had crappy coils and everywhere people congregate on the internet, coils are a common complaint amongst all Ford vehciles equipped with them. I'm sure, following your philosophy, that the faulty valve cover gaskets on the LS are to be blamed on how a person drives the car.
