well.... i need my music! radio help?

also what is the PWR/SPK harness for?

those plug into the wiring harness in the car so you don't need to cut up the factory wiring. it gets wired to the harness that plugs into the new radio. as described, its for the power and speakers.
those plugs are the same as the plugs in the back of the factory radio.

seeing as you have a double din, that may not be the exact one you need. but its gonna be similar. scosche is the only company i know of that makes them.

I'm actually looking in the market myself for new headunit and what not. I have a 96 so I'm with the Dual Din as well. As said above you can get an adapter mount to change ur dual din to single if you wanna go that way. And hell if worst comes to worst, Save alil extra money and have Best Buy do all of it for you.

ok, ill keep that in mind.

im new to radios. what are some good radio brands. also what are some good radios? lol

Maybe I am just old...I love my stock JBL system...we are talking about a 42K car from almost 20 years ago...the planning that went into the factory system can't be that bad...I have seen pics of the aftermarket systems and they ruin the aesthetics of the car... in my humble opinion listening to music is visual as well if the aftermarket system looks like an abortion gone bad what is the use...post pics of an aftermarket system installed to prove me wrong....also include the cost of the system.

i am with you on this one. the factory system looks amazing! but the only thing is. my radio is shot, its on its last leg. (anyone got a brand new stock radio?) but i think the best looking system that i saw was a touch screen. it just fit in with the factory look.

Look for a factory radio with the rear trunk CD loader...I agree with your father do not alter the interior of the car in the long run it will cause you to lose value. On the other hand performance mods are allowable if not desireable...also try to keep the car as stock looking as possible. My humble opinion...your Father has your best interest at heart anyone else including Frogman when push comes to shove will not be there like your Father would...your Father is not an idiot, if he is what does that make you?

Well I doubt you will lose any value buy putting in an after market stereo.

How much did you pay for your Mark??? If you are like most of us ... you bought your Mark VIII because it's fun to drive and gives you a little adrenaline rush when needed.

Also wrong ... when push comes to shove ... Frogman is the one person on this site you can count on to help you out more than anyone ... You may not like his post but ... too bad ... grow some balls ... Frogman is very honorable. (I made Frogman blush)....

Plus I have a CD changer if you need one ... might even have 2. But they are from a 93 Mark VIII.

Whose name is the title in yours or your dads? If his then he can do whatever he wants, which is sad.

Mine, but he holds the name on the insurance. and in Virginia, he can have my license taken away from me. till im 18.

I am sure someone on this forum has a stock system...shoot I have a factory amp I purchased off of EBAY but it was my bad and was the wrong one...if you need that I can sell it to you...maybe I will take a road trip to deliver to you. That maybe all you need...I am assuming your car has a cassette deck...if that is the case get a portable cd player for the time being....I am telling you in the long run it will be best to keep a factory look.

maybe on this forum hiding behind a computer screen but in real life his Dad has his back...

i know what your saying. i just need to find out whats wrong with my stock radio. its making a hi pitch sequel. and its getting electric interference from every thing electrical on the car. brake peddle, turn signal... ect. and the tape deck is broken. also i just got a replacement 10 disc for the truck. so i have Cd's now (FINALLY!!!!!) my old changer was broken.

oh, i payed $1,000 for my Mk with 60k on her. but i had to replace all the brake parts. rotors, calipers, pads

and my name is on the title for my mark.

I to like my oem setup..But there is 0 bass. Only thing it's good for is treble-highs..Which is all i need it for..

My parents cars(07&09) with there basic gm stereos sound better overall but dont quite get as loud.

yeah, i've seen old dying head units make lots of background noise. replacing with another stock radio to keep the cd changer is an easy option.

Oh well then Virginia sucks! Would he do that over a radio? And why does he not want you to change the car, is it a super low mileage or just him being stuck in his ways? If anything go ahead and start buying audio equipment and wait until you are 18 to install it, then he has no say.

For brands I love Alpine hands down, but I must say I needed a cheap cd player this time and picked up a single din Pioneer on sale for $50 and I love it. Just go to crutchfield like they said and look at the ones they say fit your car, then pick the one you think looks the best and has the features you are looking for.

my guess going to a aftermarket system is not going to solve that problem...I have a factory service manual that the dealers used for these cars...I will look in my book to see what the trouble shooting is for that problem...I highly recommend you go on Ebay to find one for your car...I think mine was $40.

if you can find one with green lighting i think it would be better. i put a green something (old alpine maybe?) in dads diesel, and the matching green looks very good.

Oops wait ... you need the double din right? I forgot I replaced my 95's double din with an after market ... forgot it was a double din. Sorry ... wasn't thinking at the time ... Sold the Double din a few years back
