I think I saw that you have a base model....

If so, I may be willing to sell you a good condition base model neon tail light.

If you're interested, throw me a good offer, and we can see about making a deal.

98lincmk7lsc,

I apologize for not getting back to you sooner about the tail light.

Currently, I have the following projects:

1) Replace spark plugs, coils, spark plug thread pair and repairing the ignition harness - $300

2) Replace a suspension airbag - $300

3) Fix the receiver's power button to actually turn the radio off - $100

4) Replace the tail light - $300

5) Redye the driver's seat leather - $100

6) Remove haze from headlights - $50

At this point, I'm wondering if these repairs can be recouped since I'm going to sell the car in the next few months. Then again, not making these repairs would make the car less saleable.

When I get to the tail light project, I'll contact you. Hopefully, you'll have one left.

sorry to hear about GLITCH have a copy of the instructios he sent with the light an inverter if anyone needs a copy

Denna, where do you live?

If you're anywhere close, we can get that stuff taken care of for less money than that.

98lincmk7lsc,

Oh about 500 miles south of your location.

I appreciate the offer of help, but I don't have (can't find) property insurance and having someone over is too much of a liability.

I believe I've found the lowest prices for available new parts on Amazon and my labor is free.

If there's a way to cut corners off this budget, I'd like to hear it.

If the center tail light has to be replaced because of water damage, how can you tell if the ballast also needs to be replaced ?

Well, if the light is still working, despite being water-logged, you definitely don't need a new ballast.

However, if it's not lighting up, the vast majority of the time, it's due to the ballast...

I recommend replacing the light first and see if the old ballast fires it up. If not, the next thing on your list would be a new ballast...
