I was bored so I decided to wash/clay/wax/buff the car today.

I didn't get quite as serious as some of you do, and I used what I had, which wasn't exactly the best. I used some mother's carnuba wax since it was free and a crappy single speed 6" buffer. I spent about 5 hours and still am not completely done but I'm pretty happy w the results so far. The pics are at various stages while I was working. Tell me what you think!

The last pic is of the linc and my other car - 91 camaro, which is obviously very dirty :(

Looks awesome. Nice Jordans too :P

And why does everyone's LS's get to park in the garage but mine? :[

Don't feel too sad, it is only parked there now. That spot is usually reserved for my dad's cadillac. He just took pity on me cuz I spent all day cleaning it and now it looks like it's gonna rain...and thank you for the compliments :)

I've been cleaning mine up too. washed it, waxed half of it. (I'm hung over, will do the rest tomorrow), fixed a speaker that was disconnected, and rotated the tires. Just need to change the oil after I drive it awhile.

Damn, you've been busy....and work is always 10 times more difficult when hung over. What speaker was causing the prob? Cuz right now my pass side rear door speaker has a rattle/buzz so I think it's kinda blown out. If you did do a door speaker, is it hard to get the panel off? Is it just the screws at the bottom and then clips?

I dont think you used enough wax:shifty:

:D

haha..I know I went a little overboard and figured someone would point that out, but I do think the color of my car makes the wax more visible. Oh well.

Dude, thats that VW with the Vette wheels!

That is indeed a vw with vette wheels. Not my style but the wheels don't actually fit too bad. He just painted the car not too long ago. He lives in an apartment behind my house. My boss actually owns the apartment so I use the yard/tree when I want. Pretty sweet deal. I usually park right in their yard haha.

Same here, in fact I hate VWs and Im no fan of Corvettes but the fitment and look is pretty freaking cool!

Those things sit pretty damn flush.

The ride looks sweet. Nice work.

The VW looks sick. I have always liked them in silver.

Yeah three screws on the bottom, one on the rear edge, and two under the flap by the door pull. Thats on my '05. I replaced all the speakers last spring, one of the splicers had come off.

Anyone else believe that any car runs better when it is freshly detailed?
+infinity. Just did mine yesterday - only partial detail though (interior, windows, chrome trim, engine bay). Most of the work went into spiffing up the new set of winter wheels (painted split 7-spokes from some poor 03LS).
