Waiting Room

Treated myself to a new Fn monitor. Felt the need for something larger.
All this midget porn on a smaller screen was starting to piss me off.

1920 X 1080 (Recommended)

Don't forget, different parts of the world, supply and demand dictates price. I'm not so worried, it was cheaper then getting some diamonds.

EDIT - - - - or another LS.

yeah good thing that monitor is only 1080P, you wouldn't to watch porn at 4k on that size screen! its kinda like when the bar lights come on at the end of the night. you really find out they are not nearly as good looking as you have been led to believe...

When the bar lights come on, you know your going home to play with Mr. Righty again huh Loud1? LOL

EDIT - - - -

Either that or not enough Captain' in ya!

Doesn't buying a LARGER monitor,

For the purpose of watching MIDGET porn,

Defeat the purpose of watching MIDGETS screw?

no man, your thinking about it all wrong... that way he can open 4 videos at the same time better using the larger real estate.

I see, so he can knock up his thumb that much faster... hey BigRig, if the new monitor turns it orange, don't bother the doctor, just put down the Cheetos.

Ouch ... that hurt my feelings! I'd better go make a FREE doctors appointment.

See now here's a man that gets it! however they now actually appear to be much fatter then normal, too wide.

After 4 or 5 years with a rugged Android phone (Casio Commando and Commando 4G), I've finally accepted that A.) I don't really drop my phone, B.) I don't get it wet, C.) the software support and OS updates run dry very quickly for low volume, seemingly budget-OS phones, and D.) Phones aren't getting any smaller while maintaining decent performance.

So I finally said screw it, I'm done with the lag, mediocre cameras, bloatware, and lack of community. I just set up my new Google Nexus 5x. I had to do a little extra legwork to get it running on Verizon (they really want you to "upgrade" and use a pre-approved, bloated VZW phone). I promise you I haven't opened the VZ Navigator app (PAID) since I had a flip phone, seeing as how most Android phones run Google's version and come with Maps/Nav for free.

Here it is. A pretty swanky jump from an equivalent Toyota Hilux/Tacoma to an STS or something. And the USB-C and 1 hour=~75% charge ain't so bad either.

I've also previously only had rugged phones, some Motorola V750 Adventurer or something, the "contractor's special" black/yellow/rubber Motorola i530, and the sleeper, some Nokia brick. This is an exciting/worrying step for me, but I did get Nexus Protect, even if it's not particularly cheap ($380 phone, $67 Protect, $80 deductible, 2 years coverage)

On the constantly-bright side, I've finally jumped ahead of my girlfriend in our OS race. She's still on that obsolete 5.0 Lollipop! I have 6.0 Marshmallow. And my Nexus will always be ahead of her Notes, even if only for a few weeks. My Commando 4G stopped at 4.1 Jellybean sometime in early 2014...

I have no idea what to do with my phone though. I have too much freedom now. I installed Apex Launcher to redo the homescreens and I'm transferring some app data, but then what? I'm not trying to strip it down to salvage a few grains of performance any more

I love Nexus devices, there are a little buggy the first month or two after the new software, but since it is a nexus, they are usually pretty quick to kick out updates, and not having to wait 6 mo for Verizon certification is definitely nice. actually with LG's newest Nexus, I think they came out with a patch to fix a lot of the issues with in two or three weeks!

also, dont worry, her note will never be within weeks of your Nexus... hell took them about 5 months just to kick out lollipop or the GN4, not expecting marshmallow until sometime in late spring (if I'm lucky)

I would probably at least get a decent case, LG and Sammy phones are not really known for handling drops too well.

Good to hear. I actually just got an update today. I'm not sure what it was about, though. It just said it had some security improvements.

Do you actually expect the Note 4 to get Marshmallow? I haven't kept up with when updates come out, being I was stuck on 4.1 for so long. The 4 came out Sept 2014, so I'd imagine if it does, Marshmallow would be the last update before they try to force you towards the 5 (or 6)

I did get a case, and a screen protector. Just a slim one with rubber edges. The phone is already a bit too big for one handed use and I'm not to keen on either front covers and soft rubber cases, so Otterbox types aren't my style. Hopefully this case (and my hand) holds up

All this buzz around the "Nexus" title has me feeling all warm and fuzzy. I'm pretty happy so far. It also turns out the fingerprint scanner is waaaay more convenient than I thought it would be to unlock the phone. I already programmed 4 fingers to be even lazier and not even have to aim with either hand

Otterbox makes a decent case for most phones, and they are tough. I have a very clumsy wife due to an auto accident messing up her shoulder, and she sometimes drops things. On concrete. We've put all her phones in Otter Boxes, and they just bounce when they hit. No damage whatsoever.
