Can someone just go to the dealership with a VIN# and get all the service records for that car (at least for all maintenance done at all/any Ford/Lincoln dealers)? I bought this car 3 months ago and would like to know what has already been done on this car... say in the last few years.
I saw the CarFax report, prior to buying the car, and it mentioned no accidents, 1 owner, and brakes recently replaced (days before my purchase performed by the dealer). I want to go back further in time. I see CarFax and AutoCheck are options, but I don't know that I would get anymore details that I got when I bought it via a 2-3 page CarFax report.
CarFax and AutoCheck show 13 records for this VIN.
I'd like to know when the shocks were last replaced, and when the COP's where last replaced, if the timing chain tensioners have ever been replaced etc...
Bottom line: I have new "Eibach Lowering Springs" in route to my house, and would like to skip the shocks if the previous owner replaced them recently.
Just wondering if the dealerships would have more info...
