Update on the Lincoln

Actually, 'rage' is a noun and, as such, has no suggestion of action about it at all.

Going back to the original topic, I can remember an extended discussion about 'used' parts that I had with one of the most well-known NASCAR team owners there is. We agreed that it OFTEN makes sense to use used parts. Some things DO need to be new, though. The trick comes in knowing which is which.

Mechanical and electrical stuff you always want new. Something like a shifter or a seat well used is fine.

But through today's website communities and society it has been moddified to be more of verb, as to rage on someone.

In a sentence,

"I am really going to rage on this young man because he made fun of my automobile."

TE=G-RELL;855994]WOW... coming from someone who bought the 2000 v6 LS, If you was as smart as you thought you were, you would've known that when you went car shopping you bought the worst year LS.
Not knowing where you work... but your either implying your a LO, and would have gotten him a $3,000 loan (which would be dumb), or you would file a loan for him under your name which might be the dumbest idea i've heard of on here (worst than the bicycle mirrors).

Well I think I've bought the right car.
I've only replaced the radiator since I've owned it.
And the loan was me buying his car from him, not getting him a loan to fix his car.
If you wasn't so mad and wouldn't have jumped on someone who wasn't talking to you, you've would have known that. Lol
Nice try to being a smartass to me. Lol
And I am a noobie, so what?, I have an opinion just like everyone else and if I think it I'm going to say what's on my mind. No matter what.
The boy is in high school, not college.
And he wasted my time going to look at his car and me going to the bank to get the papers for him to sign. Just for him to say no.
To me that was a bitch move.

. guess you wont be doing that again then.

:p God this place has gotten fun.... :D .

why wouldn't you buy the rebuild kit and put it in yourself. I'm not busting your balls I'm just asking questions. I have to do everything on a budget too, 45,000 in college loans being paid back...

So, ever rebuilt a tranny in your garage?

I have. TH350 which is almost as simple as they get. Not fun. Lesson learned was NEVER DO IT AGAIN. Find a buddy (or a buddy of a buddy or whatever) to give you a cheap deal at a shop, or at least use the shop's tools after hours or something.

If I had a proper stand and the right compressors, it would have worked out OK. The pump failed about 12k miles later, but the shop I took it to said it wasn't my fault - it was just slightly out of spec and ate itself. Wouldn't have known without the right measurements (Who here has a full assortment high-spec (not the cheap crap) micrometers?).

And that "simple" clutch spring compression method with C-clamps? Bull. Complete bull. You end up destroying the spring pack. Balancing a tranny on a chair? Really bad idea. I have the scars to prove it.

You're also unlikely to be able to check and re-bore the band piston bores, which should really be done if one of these is ever apart.

I'm all for doing stuff yourself, but a couple of things are just too hard to recommend to someone. If someone's gonna do it, they'll already be researching and trying. If they're not, don't even curse them down that path.

With all that said, College was a ton of wrenching fun, and I learned a lot by screwing up. Just another case for "there's a time and a place for everything, and it's college".

yeah, i tried rebuilding an a4ld twice. no go. gave up.
auto trans rebuilds are difficult.

If you read both mine and the op's post, he works at a garage and that is where they are doing the work. If they don't have the tools there, they have no buisness dealing with it at all.

And no, not in my garage, but other peoples. Did it in school to plenty of times we had the tools to do it, I figuired if he was working at a real garage they would too.

Fair enough. I totally forgot about that since it's way above the much more entertaining rage discussions. I'd sh!t my pants if the shop I worked at wanted $3k to rebuild my tranny.
Regardless, that gave me a chance to vent on one of my favorite topics: my stupid mistakes. :D Maybe it'll scare some impressionable young idiot away from that idea (i.e., the younger me), and help others heal their wounds. We're family here, you know?

Much Love G-Rell.

Just because your mad I wouldnt sell you the car for 2500 and I wasnt going to drive somewhere to hold your hand and help you sign your papers on the car to get 500$ more out of it doesnt mean you should throw a pissy fit over LVC dude.

Yes I am in High School. But I think ive done pretty well off with myself paying MY own bills. Not having Mommy and Daddy buying my car for me. Yes I was lucky enough to have my dad help me out with getting a new tranny or (Used) tranny for the car BUT I am paying him back aswell.

Number 2. If you really wanted the car so bad you would of had the papers signed and had the loan or finance or what have you ready for me. But sadly you didnt. I've made the decision I am most likley keeping my lincoln after I get the tranny in it.

And Reason why Im not rebuilding it is because the time, effort, and frustration of doing a rebuild. We've thought it would be a wiser decision to get a decent used tranny from one of our vendors such as LKQ or Emerald Coast Auto Salvage than buying a rebuild and taking about a month for us to get it all in order and done.

Like I said. I work 2 jobs and pay all my bills.. So Yes money is tight. I wanted a nice car So I jumped into the lincoln. Fixing problems that came up on hand and breaking the bank. But hey, I love my car. Im not going to buy a POS Honda or Hyundai.

Luckly enough Ive has the LVC Community on my side helping me with my problems and problem solving.

And if there was no "Hard Feelings" because I didnt want to sell you the car. Then why would you still be crying about it over the internet in my postings. Let it be and be on your way. Thats that.

SO With everything being said. Im glad to say I OWN my lincoln. Not my bank. And soon enough everything will be good with my LS.

trans

If you haven't installed this used transmission yet I recommend changing the seals before you put it in, particularly the front trans seal and the rear main enigne seal. You don't want the seals leaking and have to take it out after you just installed it. Also drain the fluid out of the torque converter as it will never come out when it is installed.

Well like I said if you have read the other posts I did put in a used tranny it it was bad..

When we do a swap we change all seals, Filter and Fluid ofc.

So waiting on LKQ to tell us they have another in.. Then process all over again.

post

I did read the other posts and I didn't see mention of the seal change. I mention this because I got stuck from a used transmission. They told me warranty for 90 days and then I installed it in and it poured out the front seal. Called to compain and they said, no warranty on seals. They told me it had only like 40000miles on it and I was pissed. If it had 40000 miles the seal shouldn't have leaked. Anyway had to pull the tranny and change a $10 seal.

Lmao ok you lil high school prick. For one, everyone knows that the SELLER has to sign paper work in order to sell their car. So who's hand would you be holding? Lol not mine....
And for 2... You was pretty much crying when you was going to sell it cause you owed your dad the money and how much you was in debt.
Lmao it pretty pathetic how you get on here and try and put me on blast bit knowing what your talking about with the "paper work". Maybe you should ask tour dad about how to sell a car to the bank..... Unless of course he's just as stupid like you are and don't know what he's talking about.... And how the :q:q:q:q can you work at a shop have allllll of those ppl inthe shop and still :q:q:q:qed up the USED tranny that you bought?.... I wouldn't wanna take my car to that "shop"... You work 2 jobs just to prove to your parants that you can man up and do adult things just so you can stay up after the street light come on... Skinny ass boy trying to get buck on the Internet but quick to get knocked out in person.. Lmao sounds like to me someone needs a reality check.... Do me a favor and go to a bank and ask them what do you need to buy a car off of a person... Not a dealer but a person... And they will tell you the same thing they told me. And tell me you won't feel stupid... So go, go to innovations and ask you stupid lil boy. Hahaha see you later boy. :)

hahaha, oh man, someone is getting all worked up again. god dammit dude if thats how he is, thats how he is. You're no better to get on here and put him on "blast", what ever that means, this is place to hang out, and help ourselfs and each other.

I mean are crying and that beat up because he wouldn't sell you his broken car.

I think most of you guys on here need a reality check. If you think you don't go out side shoot your self in the foot if it hurts its real if not try again....

Haha not worked up at all. Although it prolly don't seem that way.
I let it go, I was on a totally different subject when he came in here typing :q:q:q:q. Lol
Nonetheless, I'm done with him, I've found better v8 lses on c-list that's better than his.

Lol thanks for the talk bro...
I had fun ;)

You mad bro? Actually before you want talking trash still on LVC. You looked pretty sketchy to begin with. Honestly I didnt even want to sell you the car. I mean you are getting worked up because I didnt want to sell you my car? Oh well man up and find another like you said you have. Good luck with it. Also I work 2 jobs because I have to. I didnt have mommy and daddy there to help me buy a car, pay my insurance, Phone bill and gas. I mean think what you like of me but its all good.

Have a nice day :)

I mean, we are all friends here on LVC. If you want to keep bashing or getting worked up about something that happened a week ago and that is done and over with and had nothing to do with the Lincoln Vs Cadillac Community then I dont think LVC Is for you. LVC is a friendly community for helping each other and sharing things about their Lincoln. Not for complaining. Thank you. That is all
