Turbo gauges- a-pillar pod or nav screen

So Alex, what city and where were you when the police wrote you up?

Not sure, on my way to san diego, about 45 minutes from downey. It was on the highway

i have my volt and water temp gauge in the cig liter spot and works awesome plus plenty of room to run wiring and i use the power to the little light to run the lights so they only come on when my other lights are on

Are you just going to be running an A/F gauge?

Yea, I think so. I only want it for tuning purposes. Should you be using more? I figure I can datalog the rest with my laptop and use it's display to show live feeds as I drive.

Do you still have the lid to cover the gauges or no?

wow what an ass.

So did he roll his windows down to hear how loud you were??

That's what I thought. The cars passing and wind are louder than my exhaust while cruising on the highway. He must have seen black tips and thought modified exhaust

Oh ok, so you're not going with FI, just for tuning your ls yourself

For now yes. I think I'd spend the money on converting my ls to a 6 speed before trying to put that much power though my transmission. But you never now, if I could boost it for less than $2000 I might run low boost until I had another transmission put in. I'd at least want a spare ready to go in case I blew it up.

no first gens are completely different, they dont have a flip up cover like the 2nds do, with a 1st gen, the ash tray and cig lighter are side by side and the whole thing slides out.

Correct me if im wrong but mustang guys have put through 400+ hp with stock transmission and its the same one minus sst.

The 5R55N trans, with the properly toughened parts, can be relied upon until you are close to 1K of torque. And there's very little that can be trusted beyond that, that'll fit into the space in the car without significant cutting.

yea, the getrag is a completely different animal, and its weakness is the main reason said to be why there is no manual V8

Well that sucks.

Getrag is a fairly common trany manufacturer though so parts to beef it up
should be readily available.

You know, I still don't buy that. I think it was because Jag didn't make a manual trans v8 so ford didn't want to hassle with the R&D to do it. Plus do you really think they would put a v8 in front of a transmission without an overdrive gear? No, they wouldn't. This would have surely had bad reviews for revving to much on the HWY. I still haven't been able to find someone that has broken a 221 from to much power.

The weird thing is? Ford did put a manual behind the AJ-V8 engine, well sort of. They put 6 speeds behind that Aston Martin v8 Vantage. The v8 Vantage uses a version of the AJ-v8 in 4.3 and 4.7L variants.
