FUEL DOOR Release button

Sorry guys, I posted this earlier last week as a trunk release but the question was more for the fuel door release. Are Mark 8 & Mark 7 FUEL DOOR buttons interchangeable? I got a hold of a 1989 Mark 7 FUEL DOOR release & my 97 is bad. Are they interchangeable? It's in PERFECT condition!!!

I'm pretty sure they all interchange. I have black ones now but have some chrome button gas and trunk to put in and they were from a Gen II and will work.

They interchange and work fine, you might end up with a black button instead of chrome or the other way around depending on what you have. But it'll work.

I know for a fact the continentals change out. I just put a chrome one in place of my broken gray one.
I know this doesn't answer your question,but if you get ahold of a conti,it'll work. I'm going to the junk yard today,want me to look for one?

Why not... Sure! Thanks dude. I rather put in something nicer than a really ugly 1989 fuel door release. I'll remain patient until I come across one if you don't find any. Thanks Isaiah!
