Okay, I'm by no means bitching yet.. for my intentions are to restore my LS and keep it forever. However everything seems to be hittin' me at once lol. Geuss it's to be expected at 96500 miles though. Anyhow.. here we go..
So I just got out of work an hour ago, and on my way home my tranny did something new. I was waiting for a redlight and once it turned green, I accelerated slowly as normal. First gear clean, second gear clean.. then upon shifting to third.. rpms increase from 2k to 3.75k-4k then it shifts into third. After this occured, I smelled kind of a burning smell. Not super dense or distinct, but I could smell it. The car shifted normal the rest of the way home (approx. four 4-way stops). One thing I will add is for the last week, it has seemed that the car would slightly hesitate before it would shift up to third gear, but it was a common hesitation. A hesitation that I experience in most any Fords. They like to sit at an RPM for a half a second or more before shifting (atleast in my experience((mustangs, my wifes ford fusion, my lincoln ls etc)).
Anyhow, is my tranny conpletely taking a s***? I can't check my tranny fluid level until tomorow morning because it's late, but I really believe it's full. So let us assume it's full for this next question. Would flushing the transmission help with the shifting symptom I'm experiencing? Just curious.
Any input is greatly welcomed, you guys have led me in the right direction and have been very helpful on many occasions. I thank you all, God bless you and your LS's !!! Goodnight
