so i have lost third and 4th gear.

my car goes to second gear then tries to go to 3rd but its like nutrul then its 2nd again.

i was going down the park way, my car shifted from first to second, then shifted back to first and then slammed into second.

my vote, its the 3rd and 4th accumulator?

Either your MLPS is bad or you lunched your trans. Hope it's the former.

Not sure but I think a new TCC solenoid and a new MLPS will get him going again. It's working one day and now nothing... Both are very simple to change but one does require to remove the pan and just replace the fluid lost with new. I think about 4 to 5 quarts is all.

A guy that works for me just had the same thing happen on his Tbird, 13k miles on a built trans. 3/4 clutch pack is gone.

My Lentech AOD street terminator failed after 50 then again after 200.Things happen. Shipping to Canada stinks. Then it snapped the one piece "unbreakable" input shaft dropping 3 and 4 gear.

It would be interesting to see one of these built trans apart and inspect the hard parts and clutch material used. A trans builder that set a buddy of mine up with a "built" trans cobbled together something in a pretty case because when my buddy took the transmission apart he found cheap material being used for the clutch packs. Funnier yet it was a 4R70W behind 276rwhp NA with an ocasional 75 shot of nitrous. Power that could have been easily handled by even a stock transmission. So what did he do? He went to a salvage yard and put in a stock 4R70W with 65K miles and rocked the crap out of it even after he put a Vortech on the car and had no issues from there on.

Why would a built trans fail so early:confused:

i hate when people say "but its new..." so? its prolly more likely to be broke.

new stuff fails all the time.
a good number of new cars built every year don't even start coming off the assembly line. defective parts. installed wrong. whatever. being new don't mean that much.

I agree 100%. In my opinion...the only way to remotely get something done right is to take your time and do it yourself. Which is why I do all my own work.

so Friday I got stuck at work till 4. couldnt get it under it then. I left for camping at 5.

i just got home, parts will be in tomorrow or Tuesday. hopefully i can get her on the road Friday.

if i want it done right i have to do it -- damn techs screw up more than they fix - roasts my rear to have tires changed and they can't even get the rims on right -- that's not too big a step ---- let alone a tie rod or a ujoint.....
no fn way i would let a minimum wager change a set of brake pads,,,
friend of mine just had brakes put on his ranger - month later he was hearing a squeal --- pulled the tire off and the caliper bolt had worked out and was gone ,,,

P/S no offence to any techs on here,,,,,

I'm sure there are exceptions but from my experience I would much rather have a good used low miles engine or transmission than a rebuilt one. I've had and seen so many rebuilds fail even specialty ones. Especially transmissions.

what other cars have the same trans. in them that will bolt right up without mods. in a 93 mark,i put the 99 irs cobra rear end in it . its a locker but think my tranny is next to go, heavy accel, i can fill it go in and out if that makes since.

Mustang. Buy a 98 and up trans and do the couple little things you have to do to make it work in your 93.
