Trade in for the Genesis

Right, i originally was thinking it was the S4 but then i remembered it was only the A4 with the 2.0. I remember Jeremy stating his Audi had half the displacement of the "American" Mustang.

No worries...

Mind, although Jeremy may have banged on about how the Audi 'only' had half the displacement, you gotta remember that it has a power adder(s) to keep up / beat the bigger car with the bigger engine. Makes the comparison somewhat 'apples to oranges' (I haven't seen the review yet, but I generally take anything Clarkson says with a pinch of salt)

May I remind Mr Clarkson that the Mustang has some things the Audi will never have: Iconic status and an aftermarket to die for!

Ahh yes...that's what I laugh at with Euro cars...a very slim aftermarket....guess Americans are about indeviduality :P

Funny, you Americans are singing the praises of the European cars, whereas the European (me) is defending the American cars!

Guess that old saying is true:

The grass is always greener on the other side!

I tend to think the people who buy euro are content with the way the car is, they have no need for aftermarket. Its us Americans who want bigger, better, faster, louder, lower, etc. Its insane how wheels keep getting bigger and bigger. Got guys in the hood with cars that look like 4x4's. There are so many honda's, old acura's, old nissan's with these fart can exhausts on them. I dont understand how ANYONE thinks an exhaust that sounds like a weedeater is cool. Another trend i am seeing is cars with no front bumper so the intercooler is exposed. Stupid.

Maybe we should have Euro-Merican Automotive industry..cause if we combine our forces....we can survive the economy :P

You gotta admit...there are great things about both European cars and American cars.....

Not too many great Euro-American cars out there :P

I just want a car that is like me...taking something ordinary and make it unique..something you won't always see...just like if I do the body kit/lights on my LS....everyone else around here drives them stock :P

Yup, nothing wrong with a lil' Euro / American mix and match.

*quickly sweeps Chrysler under the rug*

EDIT: My idea for a good 'mix and match' car:

1. American engine.
2. British chassis.
3. Japanese electronics.
4. German body panels / driveline.

Oops - I left out Korea!

Ok... 5. Korean price! Lol.

+10000000000000

Couldn't agree more on that.....

So does that mean the LS just needs Japanese eletronics? lol

Yup, and a sprinkling of German stuff to top it off! Lol.

Like angel eyes, AMG exhaust, M3 body kit (Razzi 'flush' body kit), Wood shift knob, wood grain steering wheel, and an annoying Nav system.....sound like all I need to get there :P

BTW:

2. British chassis.

Yeah, what I actually meant was... British engineered chassis. Not made!

If we made the chassis, you'd see the road through the rust holes in the floor after 3 years!!!

HAHA...ya...but there isn't many british-made chasis...hell remember the Jag was our :q:q:q:q and now it's the INDIANS....damn TATA......that brand name sounds like :q:q:q:q!.....imagine going up to someone and saying "Would you like to see my TATA?"...what you think will come to mind?

And the chasis of the LS is pretty close to the S-type Jag...I have been in both and the arangement of everything even the damn battery in the trunk is very VERY similar!

See thats where i think you cross the line in a way. Stuff like angel eyes are a BMW thing, symbolic of BMW. I dont agree with taking a Lincoln and putting other brands styling on it. Certain brands have certain characteristics that should stay with those brands.

BTW...The LS has wood shift knobs and wood steering wheels. Sucks if you got the all leather versions.

I disd but the LS purchase was spontanious and last minute purchase since my previous ride literally blew up on my way home from work....

....And the Angels eyes do look nice on the LS.....especially since the LS was ALREADY supposed to look like a BMW...I still get ppl thinking my car is a BMW time to time...even the day I bought it I drove past an SUV and the kids screamed in the car "Is that a new BMW?", LOL
