Trade in for the Genesis

lol at anyone saying I would chose an LS over a Genesis by what I said. What I meant there Mr. Try2 B Slick was the depreciation would not be much worse as the poster above me said something about value. Nice try though. I would of gone on and said get this or that for that money but I figured everyone else would so I stayed on topic.

Actually the Mr Yuck face was toward your comment about it not being as bad as the LS. I really dont think any Hyundai over the next few years is going to compare,.. not in my mind anyway. Since you did not quote I thought that was a feeling you just needed to get of your chest.

And as far as depreciation value. The car is just releasing Come back with it in 50K miles and 6 years with a huge repair history covered under the great warranty plan they carry and lets talk! Some of you do realize that there is a good reason why these companies cover their ass with such plans dont you? The second that warranty is up like other cars they are not worth near as much as they are while still covered. Hyundai,...Kia those cars are the worst. They are in for repairs non stop and once that warranty is up and they hit that mile mark they arent worth anything at all. Pay 14K for a kia and 75k miles later its worth 2 grand!

My comment about loling at anyone wanting a Genesis over the LS was not directed towards you but anyone willing to voice that and come out of the closet so to say;)

Nice try though.

Thank you. If your not at least trying to put in 100% why put in anything at all?:)

I see, well seeing as you just quoted me and I was reading through quickly I just took it as you directing it all toward me. My bad, moving on.

Lol..... and if they guy wants speedy for 42k he can always get an Ariel Atom :P

and for those who don't know of the Lexus IS-F here's a vid. But just to note...I hate Ricer cars unless I want fuel economy...and in my opinion...the world has f*cked with me enough..so i'm f*cking back!

I know you are looking at buying a brand new sport luxury sedan but for in the 40 - 45 range you could also buy a nice low mileage 06-07 M5 or Audi S6. Both are better cars in about every category except mileage and age. But as you said, get what you want and not what everybody else wants.

Now THERE's a good idea. M5 or Audi RS4.

Remember, only a fool buys new. Let some other sucker take the depreciation hit.

RS4 is a BAAAAAAAAAAD mutha. NickT had one for a week when he worked for Audi. He took me for a ride in it and I was hooked. Didn't even want to get back in the LS.

Yessir. I haven't yet got to ride in one/drive one yet, but it's up there on my list. My list of cars that are actually attainable in my lifetime, that is.

You guys need to try the new Audi 2.0T those :q:q:q:qers are fast..almost as much torque as a first gen LS....it's crazy......and it's so comphy!

Fast and first gen LS should not be in the same sentence. Nor should second gen. Ever.

RS4 is nowhere near as sluggish and boring as an LS. And it handles.

True until you start abusing the car and be one of those ppl ALWAYS in the shop. I'm looking foreward to possibly buying a newer car when I turn 25 (in 2.5years) cause my credit score will be great and so will insurance. Or I can keep my LS and buy engine after engine.......My question is where to keep my money (Not to sound off topic) though I love my LS...I doubt it will actually LAST forever .......

repete, have you seen the RS4? Check it out. To get in the price range, check out specifically the 2006 RS4. 415HP 4.2L V8.

I actually have checked it out but only seen the 2008 model since when I went to Barrier Audi they had no 2009 models on the lot yet..only 2.0T and the V6. Same goes for the A5...they only had the V6 available and no S5 or even a R5.....

For 42K I can name at least 3 powerful and nice looking cars that you could buy all at once!

I drove the v8 Genesis. It was alright. Nothing too special though. It had some power but I would not consider it a sport anything. It is a boat! It did seem pretty well appointed inside (leather all over, navi, heated seats, etc).
Any new car will depreciate worse than your average used one, just the way it is.
I could not spend $42k on a Hyundai! If I wanted a car that looked like a Mercedes I woudl get a Mercedes.

I have not had opportunity to drive the 335 yet but for $42k you could sure get a nice one.... or a decent year old 535.

Have fun with your purchase.

first of all the genesis is not a v8. its a 6. second, if your dealerships are charging 42k for one of these they are gouging. the website says the msrp is 29k and that is the track edition with the 19 inch rims. third, its a good deal if you read the specs on it. on paper that thing has alot of go fast goodies from the lot. im no fan of korean cars myself, but the bang for the buck is there.
